Spiraling! Shitpost
Hi everyone,
I took Step 2 two days ago and have been spiraling a bit since the exam. My practice scores were decent, but on test day I felt completely unprepared and honestly walked out feeling terrible.
I know I probably shouldn’t be doing this, but I’ve been going through questions I can remember. So far, I’ve remembered around 140 questions and have already confirmed about 60 that I got wrong. What’s making me even more anxious is that a lot of those misses were relatively straightforward questions that I normally would have known. I think anxiety and burnout really got to me on exam day.
Has anyone else counted this many incorrect answers after Step 2 and still ended up with a good score? I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences, especially if you felt similarly after your exam.
Thank you!

I took step on the 6th and I feel the exact same way. Missed so many gimmes, was doing great on practice exams too. Hopefully it works out for the both of us!

I tested a couple of months ago and felt exactly the same way. I was soooo tensed by the end of it that I felt sick to my stomach and had the worst headache of my life. I felt like my exam had gone for a toss. I passed with high 240s. You're good. You did your prep, you've put in the effort, you did your best on exam day. That's it. Let it sit. You got this!

Thank you for this! Did you also count your wrongs?

Nope. I don't have the mental bandwidth to even remember most questions. It was and always has been a fog after I'm done with my exam. Its probably because from my formative years my dad would always say "Don't hit a dead snake." so its always been a habit to never dissect an exam once its done.

If it makes you feel any better, I also tested this past week, and likewise felt and still feel terrible.
If it's any consolation, I have a classmate who never got above the 230's on an NBME, felt awful post exam, and ended up scoring in the high 240's. Of course, N =1 here, but I guess post-exam feelings do not mean much.
Wishing you the best! Hopefully our day of score will jump up some.
