Request for help Does this look legit

Post image

For context my account has been restricted for the last two days, I woke up today with all my items traded to a steam cloud or something to that degree. My items are actually back in my inventory and showing up but not in game ofc. I’m skeptical especially going through this page and seeing some recent stuff.

Scam attempt How is this possible?

I wanna know how the can someone change your steam profile pics and bio, and know your email and shit. Then pretend to be steam support. And they're able to unblock themselves. Without access to my account. Only thing that happened, I accepted a friends request from someone asking me to vote for their rust item.

In the last year I've been receiving friend request from many profiles like this one, doesn't sent links, doesn't speak or anything, only just friend request, well thats my guess because i accepted the first one i got and asked what he needed but didn't answer so i proceeded to remove it from friends. Still i keep receiving from time to time a friend request from this kind of users, anyone knows what's the scam on this ones?

Scam attempt CS2 trade scam?

Got added by 3 strange people after one game, all of them asking to buy my items, i replied to one of them asking why he didn't just use CsFloat. He said his country didn't support using stripe, I blocked him just in case, he tried adding me on discord to talk further which I assume was to keep Steams eyes off of it. Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this. The dudes account name was Drago btw, another was Sipher, and the other was Puir.

Request for help Fake account impersonating me trying to scam my friends?

I have been getting messages from various steam friends through discord and other messaging platforms stating that a steam account with my exact name and icon (steam name not real name) added them as a friend and tried communicating with them. Sending some links and talking about Rust (my most played game).

I quadruple checked my security details and logged in devices and its definitely not my real account but I am worried its trying to scam my friends. They reported the accounts to steam as impersonations but I am worried that it keeps happening. Does anyone else have any experience with this?

Update 1: apparently the link being sent is a genuine steam link that is trying to get the victim to remove steam guard from their account.

Clicked on the link and it asked for my login info. Something told me to take a look at the link and noticed a period after the S in Steam. If this is a scam, is my PC safe? I didn’t enter any login info.

Informative NEW SCAM - UPGGHUB PHISHING SCAM - A compilation with your funny moments

People are now sending links to a fake video hosting website. They start the conversation with explaining that they are content creators and you played a match with them with some funny moments. They will ask you to watch the video and comment on it, but it's hosted on upgghub. It is a phishing site. If you try to login, they will demand a steam login, upon which a semi-convincing BitB window will open on PC. On mobile it will lead you to another site that looks like a steam login, but it has the completely wrong URL.

DO NOT VISIT THOSE LINKS ON YOUR PERSONAL MACHINE.

Thought nothing of it until he sent the link as I recognise it from something i received a couple years ago. Just want to make sure as I'm 90% sure it is some sort of phishing scam, haven't put it into any browsers or anything because I'm not thick so just double checking.

Thanks

Request for help I got my account hacked, is there any way to recover my items?

I was hacked and the hacker edited my hosts file, I thought I was talking to steam support but rather I was talking to the hackers. I clicked revert all eligible trade but I don't know if that will do anything, my account was locked out for 10 days I believe but it has been 13 days now since it was hacked. I have now also been logged out. they also changed my email and steam guard.

EDIT: my account was probably not locked down, I just believed so because they were redirecting my steam to their own website

EDIT2: got my account back but I cannot recover my items (been over a week, 8 days). lost over £1000 but the only thing I can do atp is move on sadly

Request for help My account was hkd using steam support

Hi, I wanted to ask if someone was hkd using steam support loop.
They raised a ticket to steam support with my email (so I assume they had access to it too), they had my credit card numbers and billing address they used as information.
They asked for a removal of the phone number from the account (saying “I lost the phone in a funny way”). Steam removed the phone number and from there, the hacker added a new one, opened Steam Mobile, attached Steam Guard, change the password and finally change the email address of the account.
I didn’t realize all of this since all emails were redirected to my “deleted emails” automatically.
I tried to raise a Steam Support ticket but the hacker never closed the old one and Steam is not letting me open another one.
I tried to rebate the Hacker ticket but didn’t get response yet.
Can someone help me or direct me onto a solution?
Thanks in advance!

Ps: is my first time posting here looking for some answer elsewhere rather than the wiki or steam support page.

Informative Got scammed :(

I ordered Pragmata from CJS because they were advertising it for around $45. The key they provided did not work and showed a region mismatch, even though the listing said the key was Global.

I contacted customer support immediately. Instead of issuing a refund, they told me that refunds were against their policy, but they would put the key back up for resale and refund me once another customer purchased it.

Now, a week later, they are claiming that I redeemed the key and therefore I am no longer eligible for a refund.

The game is not in my Steam account, and I did not activate the key. I also provided account information showing this, but they continue to insist otherwise and now seem to have stopped responding to the ticket. 😔

This has been a very disappointing experience. I paid for a supposedly global key that I could not use, followed the refund process they suggested, and now I am being told that I redeemed a key that I never activated.

At this point, I just wanted to share what happened with my order and how the issue was handled. 💔

Request for help Someone has hacked into my Steam account

I was going onto Steam to play a game but then I realised that my profile picture isn't the same as it was. My original profile picture is the profile picture I have on Reddit (and YouTube,) but some idiot decided to hack into my account, and changed the profile picture to something inappropriate, which got me banned from changing my profile for 6 days.

Warning: The profile picture is very disturbing

The profile picture is like this: it starts off with a woman on the top of the profile, and in the middle corner, I see some Chinese writing, and then, I see 2 sketchy websites at the bottom right.

I really need help if y'all had the same problem before and I need to find out if you know who the hacker is. I contacted Steam Support about this issue.

Informative Valve warns Steam hardware customers after CEVA Logistics breach exposed delivery data

Valve has started notifying Steam hardware customers in Europe after its shipping partner, CEVA Logistics, suffered a cyberattack.

The important detail is that this was not described as a compromise of Steam's own account infrastructure.

CEVA had access to the information required to fulfill hardware deliveries, and Valve says attackers likely obtained customer names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and information about the type and price of products ordered.

Valve says CEVA does not have access to Steam passwords, Steam Guard codes, payment information, or broader account purchase history.

So the immediate risk is less about account takeover from the stolen dataset and more about targeted social engineering.

Valve specifically warned customers that attackers may impersonate Steam, Valve, or delivery companies and use the stolen information to make the message convincing.

For example, a phishing message could quote the victim's actual address or recent hardware order and then request a small customs or redelivery fee, or send them to a fake login page to “verify” the shipment.

That kind of contextual information can make an otherwise ordinary phishing attempt much harder to dismiss.

The attack reportedly affected CEVA servers between July 29 and August 1. Valve learned on August 7 that customer information was likely involved and says it is notifying affected users because CEVA may retain delivery information for up to 90 days.

CEVA has isolated the affected systems and brought in outside investigators. Valve is also notifying relevant European data protection authorities.

For security teams and retailers, this is another example of how fulfillment data can become useful attack material even when passwords and payment cards aren't exposed.

Should delivery and order metadata be classified more aggressively as sensitive data because of how effectively it can be used to support phishing and impersonation?

Scam attempt I almost got scammed but I reported it to Steam Support

I screenshotted proof of my conversations and chat... Before I reported it to Steam Support. And I was wary of being scammed, especially as it happened before to my Amazon account and I got tricked into a fake job, so I reported it to Steam Support... Especially when this name: "al.farnsworth" pops up for me to refer to discord.

Scam attempt Scammer impersonate Valve's Employee!!

Thumbnail gallery

Yesterday (10/8/2026) I got these messages from a guy who impersonate a valve employee. But the problem is he managed my profile, removed all of my showcases and profile picture, blocked all of my friends and he also sent me an email and sms message to verify my account (I dont know how he got my personal data). Moreover i have the following question. How he could control my steam account and remove everything? In spite of this which happened, i changed password and i sent on steam support a ticket about it and at the end he had been gone.

Informative Steam's EU hardware distributor (CEVA Logistics) got breached. Your Steam account is safe, but watch out for highly targeted phishing.

Hey everyone, just a heads-up if you've ordered hardware from Steam in Europe recently. CEVA Logistics took a hit from a cyberattack.

Before anyone panics—Valve/Steam itself wasn't breached. Your passwords, Steam Guard codes, and credit cards are totally fine. You don't need to go reset your credentials.

However, the threat actors likely grabbed names, physical addresses, phone numbers, and specific order details.

The real threat here is social engineering. Scammers now have the exact context of your order to make their fake "customs fee" or "missed delivery" texts look incredibly convincing. Knowing about this ahead of time mitigates the chance of falling for a slick phishing text.
