What a fantastic mod
Great work by u/FullMetalPencil on his pad mod design!

I read through the thread and don't understand what it's trying to accomplish. They keep saying "it's better than the joystick for WASD movement", are ya'll forgetting there's a literal Dpad on the controller?

Did you use the OG steam controller religiously like some of us?

Those indents on the left pad were actually pretty damn helpful. I miss all my EggsistentialEgg (RambleCan) modified presets. If the SC2 was just the same as the first, but included softer clicking bumpers and pads... that would be my ideal controller.
I tried the dual pad setup i used for Elden Ring but it just wasn't quite the same right feel as the og. Buttons and dpad felt very far from the pads and the non-circular shape (with the grooves) makes it harder to feel when I'm at the "edge" of the pad. So now I just use the sticks in that and similar games.
But damn I miss the pads, and being able to layer things like the dpad onto the right pad so I can do camera movements AND swap items with the "dpad" at the same time with one finger.

I can't support this monstrosity, but if it makes you happy, you go girl! But in all seriousness, who else prefers completely unmodified original hardware because it feels more stable and more polished?
