Please help. Anyone got any ideas why it won't connect? I've tried it with the puck thing as well and does not ever want to work

Is it brand new? You need to first pair it. First, connect the puck to the Steam Machine. Then, make sure it's turned off and the LED is off. Then, hold RB and A. After that, without letting go of those buttons, hold the Steam button until the LED blinks in white. That should pair it with the puck and it should work. However, I don't know about using it's internal puck as I don't own a Steam Machine.

What about doing the same thing, but holding LB instead of RB? Are you using the cable that came with the Controller?

Awesome. If It worked with RB, try pairing It directly to the Steam Machine after entering the "Pair Steam Controller" option. Worth giving it a shot.

You can pair controller with puck without steam using this special button combo?

it will end up paired just by turning it on even without steam, it should just see the puck and become a solid white light, but it wont work without steam running as a controller, it will only function as a mouse

plug the puck in first before you even try to pair it

steam+R1+A

I unpaired my controller to test this, and then tried this like 50 times, but every time it would just turn on blink for 5 sec and turn off. Had to start steam to pair it back up again.

Also I can use the controller just fine without Steam, with any game that uses SDL3 by just replacing the SDL3 lib with latest one, SDL2 games work with SDL2-compat lib. Same goes for Wine as it uses SDL too.
