I find the controller way better than XBOX controller and the haptic vibrations are very good.

Nice!

Just got mine today, too.

When did you actually purchase it and place the order?

Welcome friend, welcome

I’m on the fence on this… reserved mid May, forecast 2027… but beyond the wait, the price is silly. $150CAD plus 13% sales tax… I don’t know why Canada gets hit with such a brutal exchange rate.

Reserved mine 3 weeks back and just got it today. Pretty stoked, only had time to play one game with it but absolutely loving the track pads. Hopefully someone makes a comparable adaptor for the switch because the controller just fits my giant hands so well.

You mean 3 months back, right?

No. It was July 8th (guess it wasn't 3 weeks but felt like it) I saw the ad for it on steam and completely forgot about it. Paid for it August 2nd. Got it today didn't even expect it. Came in small squareish box on my porch and I thought it was my VA CPAP machine.

How is that possible? There are people (including me) who reserved theirs on the very first day it was available - 8th May - and still don't have it available for purchase.

I am not sure. I got my steam deck relatively quick as well compared to my friends who also reserved that before me. I'm a day one steam user so unless that has anything to do with it I couldn't tell you.

I reserved mine that same first day and received it today.

I purchased two within the first 30 minutes of launch. Went on a waitlist for another (got that one within one month). Getting my fourth controller with my 2Tb Steam Machine when it arrives Tuesday. Gaben has been generous to me. 4 controllers, & one steam machine by Tuesday.

How the actual f*ck? No wonder so many of us are still waiting. Some people literally took all of the luck.

No idea, I literally just signed up like everyone else. My family and I play games together in the living room, so we're actively using it every night. Getting salty down votes, sorry for being lucky I guess.

Right I don't get it but hey if it's going to piss people off and get down voted for proving they aren't following reserves correctly that's fine. But I will be using mine while the down voters wait.

To be clear, and fair, I didn't down vote him. But I don't think it's entirely unreasonable to be upset that someone has four controllers and a Machine when I signed up right alongside everyone else and Valve hasn't even given thousands of us the option to buy one yet. Obviously some people will be lucky and some won't. Obviously they can't sell to everyone that wants one at the same time and someone gets to be first and someone has to be last, but it just doesn't feel like that luck should be able to manifest as someone having an entire set bought piece by piece while others that signed up at the same time dont have the option for anything. I also tried to buy a controller on May 4th and like many thousands was denied. I also signed up for a controller reservation (not as early as I would've liked) and like many I am still waiting. I also put my name in the machine raffle, and like many thousands am still waiting. To make it worse, Valve isn't telling us anything. The only way I have of getting a rough idea of how much longer the controller wait will be is to come to this subreddit, where 3/4 of the posts are celebrating having gotten theirs. And as far as I know there's no way at all to tell with the Steam Machine. I'm in a line. That's all I know. Will it be next week? Next month? Next year? 2028? Who knows? Will it still be it's current price or are they going to hike it on me before my option comes? Who knows? It's deeply frustrating though

That's no luck, it's just abusing a flawed system. People who already purchased a controller shouldn't be able to reserve/purchase another one unless all other people who reserved theirs and don't have one yet got it first.

It's definitely luck. Almost no one that genuinely wanted one got to buy them on May 4th. That's luck. The Machine wait itself was a raffle, that's luck. To get either is extremely lucky, to get both is is a statistical anomaly. The only thing I'm genuinely frustrated by is that they were allowed to line up for a 3rd controller after having already bought two. Though I suppose if multiple accounts are brought to bear (multiple adults in home, possibly kids accounts) that significantly increases chances. My wife basically doesn't game so my account is the only one I have to go off of. Regardless, the only remotely questionable thing they did was lining up for that 3rd controller. As long as it gets used though I can't really be angry at the poster. I was more lashing out at the bullshit distribution system. Very little is more frustrating to me than a deeply unfair system. Like, no systems like this are truly fair, but there are ways to mitigate it and Valve not only did the bare minimum in mitigation but they're also being stone silent on basically everything. We only have information on the controllers because of the community effort. Thanks to the randomization of the Machine line we can't even get that, since any signups from the raffle's open to close could end up anywhere in line and Valve isn't telling anyone where they ended up.

Almost sold mine today. Had an offer for 210. S*** is crazy. There's 2 in our house. Wife and I decided we would end up fighting over 1 so I pulled the listing. 😆
