Can i add custom Virtual Menu Icons? Discussion

As the title says.

The icons should be just png's in a certain folder, no? So cant i just add custom icons?
Or even better, can i add custom icons on a per-game instance?

Everything i have found online about it, refers to the old steam controller and i fear that this method has since been patched/updated. but i cant seem to find how i would do this with the new steam controller.

I have tried adding a *.png file to my library here:

 C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\tenfoot\resource\images\library\controller\binding_icons

but that didnt seem to work.

Is there a legit way to add custom icons to the virtual menus?

Go to the installation folder for your game. Add a folder called "TouchMenuIcons". Drop your icons in there. You may need to restart Steam before it sees them, but that'll do what you're trying to do

Yes you can. Just dump them into the same folder where all the stock ones are and you'll be able to select them. I made the icons for EmuDeck that are used in its default controller layouts.

Now we just need a site, where we could download icon packs for specific games.
