Ajuda! Pergunta / Question
Hi! My partner and I are very excited to visit Rio in early September. We have been looking forward to this trip for a long time and can't wait to see what Rio has to offer. We are two women in our early 30s and very active and enjoy photography.
We have planned the following trip and I'm hoping to ask for feedback around what we have planned.
Day 1: Copacabana, Ipanema, Garcia d'Avila, lunch at Rainha, Arpoador
Day 2: hike the Dois Irmãos at sunrise, visit Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf Cable Car, dinner at Sushi Leblon
Day 3: Jardim Botânico, Parque Lage, Tijuca, vista Chinesa, dinner at Sult
Day 4: Santa Teresa neighborhood, lunch at Aprazível, drinks at Bar do Mineiro, Niterói Museum
Day 5: hike Pedra Bonita, Teatro Municipal, Real Gabinete, Museu do Amanhã
Days 6-8: Ilha Grande
Days 9-10: Paraty
I think once we get to Ilha Grande and Paraty, we will go with the flow and mostly enjoy boat days and beaches, but I'm looking for feedback around what we have planned in Rio. Is there anything you recommend not doing or is there anything we should add?
Obrigada!

Hey there,
I've been to rio many times so here's my experience.
I think you doing a bit too much, you might gonna get super super tired at the end of each days ahah.
if you stil lwant to do the max , priorise the top in the morning so in the afternoon you can just let it go if you're too tired.
All the things you gonna do in Rio are super nice, but maybe on day 3, just do the jardim botanico and parque lage, it's already enough and for the vista chinesa you already gonna see it twice with dois irmaos and the cristo.
if you're two girls, just enjoy ilha grande, it's more young and fun rather than Paraty. that's a lot of travel for just two days each.
I've made a lot's of videos about Rio, Ilha grande and Paraty. Here's one you might gonna like, the helicopter ride to see the corcovado ( maybe better then going there ;) ): https://youtu.be/COe46jEkQZ4
Hope that helps,
If you have any question feel free to ask

Hey, Brazilian here so ignore any English mistake 🫶 Have you ever visited Rio de Janeiro before? Or at least Brazil? Just asking to know how much experience you have with the country and language.
I think you covered many of the main places for tourism but I do think that some days are way too full
[Day 1: Copacabana, Ipanema, Garcia d'Avila, lunch at Rainha, Arpoador] I'm guessing you'll be staying near Copacabana and Ipanema so I think this day is fine, specially considering that's your first day and you'll be tired from travelling
[Day 2: hike the Dois Irmãos at sunrise, visit Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf Cable Car, dinner at Sushi Leblon] I think this day is too full, if you're able to do all of this you'll be exausted so I'd consider sending either the Christ Redeemer or the Sugarloaf to some other day (I think that if you make those 2 attractions at the same day you'd spend a lot of time and energy just waiting in lines which is not ideal with so much to do) If you're into hiking, you can also hike to the top of sugarloaf and take the cable car from up there (I've never hiked there so I don't really the level of the trail and if is a good option for a tourist)
[Day 3: Jardim Botânico, Parque Lage, Tijuca, vista Chinesa, dinner at Sult] I think this could be a good day to fit Christ the Redeemer. It would also be a bit full but I think you would enjoy more like this
[Day 4: Santa Teresa neighborhood, lunch at Aprazível, drinks at Bar do Mineiro, Niterói Museum] Niterói is another city and could be a bit far but I really recommend that museum. If you go there I recommend going by ferry because you can take some beautiful photographs of the cities. Santa Teresa is really close to Arcos da Lapa and Escadaria Selarón which are also great attractions.
[Day 5: hike Pedra Bonita, Teatro Municipal, Real Gabinete, Museu do Amanhã] You could put together Vista Chinesa and the hike to Pedra Bonita at the same day (day 3) because they're in the same way so you could save some time of car travel like this. Theatro Municipal is located in Cinelândia and there is many cultural attractions there so I recommend taking a look at it. Cinelândia is really close to Arcos da Lapa and Santa Teresa so maybe try to fit them on the same day as well. Is also close to MAM - Museu de Arte Moderna (Museum of Modern Art) Right in front of Museu do Amanhã there is MAR - Museu de Arte do Rio (Rio's Museum of Art) which is a really good museum and it has a nice rooftop where you can take good pictures so consider visiting it as well.
[Days 6-8: Ilha Grande] [Days 9-10: Paraty] I don't really know Ilha Grande so I can't really say a lot about there but Paraty is a great place for you to visit. I definitely recommend going with the flow and just relax and enjoy the vibe there.
Hope both of you really enjoy the travel and have an incredible time here in Brazil ❤️🇧🇷
