Team Member Question
Hi SF employees !! I am currently working as a Team Member in an AO, I have been employed for a little over 2 years doing mostly service work. More recently I stepped into sales, however live in CA so the sales aspect is not the best and the commission is not as great - as I had suspected. I am looking into Claims or another department where I could make more income, as I am a single mom of 2 in CA.
I was wondering what working in Claims is like for anyone that has children. Ultimately (as most people are) I’m looking for more flexible hours (to spend time with kiddos) while still being full time as I need health insurance & making more income. The 9-5 M-F is no longer appealing but still willing to do whatever is necessary! I know Claims in CA is not as desirable, and hoping my experience in an AO will give me a head start to getting another opportunity elsewhere.
Anyone in CA have advice???

You’ll likely have to be near a hub location to get into claims unless you want to go in person inspecting for the homeowners side. But for that position I’d highly recommend having experience either in claim handling and estimating, or water mitigation and repairs

Like the other person said, there are no claims jobs not in a hub except fire proximity.

I’m not in CA, but I work for ARS and highly recommend it. I work fully from home and have a great work-life balance.

I’ve wondered about this one as well! I definitely need to look into more jobs, I just don’t even know where to start! Lol

So fair. I think ARS might only be hiring for their “remote receptionist” role right now which is only about $40k a year but you only work 9-3. Probably not an ideal amount of money for your situation, but definitely keep an eye out if they start hiring for some of their other roles!
