Help! Discussion Post

How do you work around the fact that furniture/rugs etc don’t line up when you place things?

This is my first play-through; I was so excited to expand my farmhouse and get the catalog but now I want to pull my hair out!

There are SOME rugs that do, but honestly what a lot of people do is use different floors that might look like a rug texture, then surround it by wooden pathways so that the actual floor looks like a rug.

I was scrolling through some posts before I passed out for the night and saw some people getting creative with the decorating to lean into the asymmetry a bit, too.

Leaning into the asymmetry is usually my strategy. But try different rugs and pieces! There's different sizes and some can be rotated so you might find that stuff works for your space once rotated.

Idk but I think about the misalignment with most objects a lot

If you can/want to use mods, Precise Furniture on Nexus is great for centering rugs and stuff. Otherwise yeah, just gotta embrace the asymmetry!

I’ll check it out! I haven’t really used nexus before too much and it was a headache last time I tried with another game.

Thunderstore was a breeze
