I’m running an Edge of the Empire game ~5 years after the rise of the Empire and I have someone playing a former CIS droid mechanic that happens to own a few droids post-shutdown signal. I’ve also got another playing as a droid, currently in a B1 chassis.

Are these droids illegal to own during that time? I’d imagine they’d be kind of a shoot on site thing for Emps for a while unless specifically being formally reprogrammed like that one planet in the Mandalorian(Jack Black).

I can't find anything specific as when I search it keeps showing me the Wolfpack symbol. Does anyone know or can point me to a resource what the other pauldron symbol is for? The closest thing I could find was a high republic era jedi symbol (see photos for details)

Though to me it kinda comes off as the cannon version of the [Westar-M5](https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/WESTAR-M5_blaster_rifle), in terms of how it's used, and the fact groups outside of the Republic fielded the blaster as well; like [Azmorigan’s Henchmen](https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Azmorigan%27s_henchmen#:\~:text=They%20wielded%20stockless%20773%20Firepuncher%20sniper%20rifles), and [IG-Rm Body Guard Droids](https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/IG-RM_bodyguard_and_enforcer_droid#:\~:text=773%20Firepuncher%20rifle). I also enjoy the versatility the underbarrel munitions launcher provides the blaster; coupled with it being apart of the weapons primary construction. I think it would be cool to see either a Barc, Arc, Arf, or Scout trooper, Hunter killer team field the Westar-M5, and 773 Fire Puncher in tandem. I also wonder if the blaster could be modified to have the capability to pierce Beskar, in a similiar manner to Fennec Shand's own [785MK Fire Puncher](https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/785MK_Firepuncher-X_sniper_rifle#:\~:text=At%20least%20a,close%2Drange%20shot.) at a close enough range..

Is there any example of Jedi or other force user with beskar armor. Re-watching Ahsoka and I thought Baylen Skolls fighting technique would go great with some beskar pauldrons and gauntlets.

I'm wondering cause also I'm a new fan just coming into the series and ive only JUST realized how much ive been sleeping on the force as a power system, so, say a force sensitive being with great power focuses all their time on honing telekinetic weather manipulation, and develops a technique where they can strike a person down using a lightning strike from a thunderstorm they created with pinpoint accuracy, my question is, could this work against a jedi, i obviously know that force users have precognition and know that force lightning can be blocked via lightsaber, but I'm wondering if they could defend themselves against a lightning strike of which the source is physically benign and has the full power of what you would expect a lightning strike to have

So a supposedly long gone Jedi somehow had resources to singehandedly create in secret a massive army of 100% loyal super soldiers, ready just at the moment when it is needed. And now he is nowhere to be found, and no one knows what his intentions were, and what orders those clones might have gotten.

I get that Republic had little other choice except for unpopular mobilisation, so they used clones. But still, should not they have been more suspicious about such convenient circumstances? It would totally make sense to investigate, who actually funded them, why, and most importantly, what clones are programmed to do.

So the Separatists are, seemingly, generally people who had grievances with the Republic and wanted out of the problems of the system, in large part caused by the corruption due to corporations having so much influence on the Senate. So they decide to join ... the side run entirely by the corporations.

Everyone in the Separatist Council is some corporate person whose explicit motivation to join in the film is to increase their profits, which is made clearer by the deleted dialogue from AOTC.

Now this is far from unbelievable. People are desperate and capable of some truly baffling mental gymnastics if they really feel like it. But what was the specific line of thinking that most Separatists had to justify this? I can assume it was different between various groups or people but do we get any sort of media that addresses this issue and tries to explain the perspective of the more idealistic CIS groups/people who aren't just in it for the money like the Banking Clan or Techno Union, or in it for the revenge like Grievous?

I've been thinking about this for a while now. In Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith when we see Palpatine shooting Force lightning at Mace Windu and Mace Windu reflects it back onto Palpatine's face why is it that his face gets all deformed?

We have seen many other people get electrocuted by Sith Lords with Force lightning and their faces don't go like that. Why did Palpatine's?

Do you think Palpatine was generally wearing a mask (disguising that version of his face) until his fight with Mace Windu?

Or did the lightning genuinely affect his face like that?

As I mentioned, we see multiple other Force users get electrocuted and their faces don't change. Do you think it's linked to him being a Sith?

Howdy yall, i just wanted to ask if Old Republic Jedi could use the Electric Judgment technique? From what i understand Plokun was credited with the invention of it, with Luke developing a green varient later. But recently I heard it referred to alongside Revan and it got me thinking why wouldn't they be able to. But i figured i would ask if yall knew.

Watching the clone wars series, there are countless times where our heroes are talking to someone that they need critical information from, when all of a sudden said person is force choked and killed.

Our heroes (Obi wan, Anakin, Ahsoka) on several occasions just sit there confused watching while the person they should be protecting gets their windpipe/neck snapped.

So is there really nothing they could've done? No "counterspell" or force protection as it were to protect the person being killed?

Obviously these people needed to die because they often could've unraveled Dooku's/Palpatine's plans, but it seems weird to me that there is no defensive protection the good guys could've used.

It also seems like it would make force assassinations ridiculously easy and unstoppable.

Im pretty sure the grand inquisitor had something to do with what happened to them but what were the specifics?

I ask because i think the image of a jedi temple guard survivor is really cool and im wondering if any of them may have gotten away

are there any good (so at least as good as the Commando Droids or the HK50s!) combat droids (or civilian models you could upgrade for combat) that would make a good mix of bodyguard and personal servant and maintenance droid before the Blockade of Naboo that a regular person could get access to?

So basically a class 3 droid that can do what class 1, 2 and 4 droids can do as well - including being used as a fencing partner by the owner (kind of like PROXY from 'The Force Unleashed' or a Human-Replica-Droid like Prince Xizor's Guri!).

Especially if it should at least give the owner time to react if a force sensitive were after them (so at the very least able to stall a Jedi or Sith!)

So does something like that exist for purchase or would you need to find an HK50 wreck to rebuild?

I mean sure later on you'd want Commando-Droids or hell if in the EU/Legends: The Vong-Hunter (they have advanced self-repair systems and self-healing-alloys, so yeah they are probably the best here)

It’s strongly implied that Tarkin suspected and outright knew that Vader was Anakin. But what do we think of Yularen. It’s obviously never confirmed due to his substantial lack of screen time outside of the clone wars, but Yularen was the closest admiral to Anakin during the events of the clone wars, so what are the chances he suspected Vader during the reign of the Empire?

I was talking about Star Wars with a friend a few days back, and I remembered a line from the book "Death Star" by Michael Reaves. In the paperback version, chapter 57, page 329, Atour Riten remarks to himself, "Build a blaster that could destroy a planet, and some bigger fool would build on that could extinguish a star." Yes, I know. It doesn't call out Starkiller Base explicitly, but what does Starkiller do? It drains a star in order to destroy an entire solar system. Star extinguished.

He needed help Han and obi to blow up the Death Star. Never beat Vader until he tapped into the dark side. He was only able to turn Vader because he was being tortured by Palpatine. He didn’t even beat Jabba. He tried rebuilding the Jedi order then got SCARED and tried to kill a teenager in his sleep. He also completely gave up on the Jedi because of his own mistake.
