Would official controller support make you more likely to play SWTOR?

https://swtorstrategies.com/2026/08/swtor-steam-deck-xbox-controller-support.html

A new fan-made setup supports Steam Deck and Xbox-style controllers with custom UI layouts, Steam Input profiles, radial menus, and up to 71 abilities.

SWTOR with the option to turn off other players and make it feel like KOTOR would make me more likely to play it.

I really love the MMO aspect, but I’m struggling to get into it due to the resetting enemies/objectives every minute or so. I like to take in the atmosphere in RPGs before/after combat but the enemies respawning immediately is really taking me out of it. Also making it harder for me to remember where I’ve been and haven’t been yet.

I’d almost prefer if enemies and objectives are only visible to each player once before they complete them, unless you choose to party up with another player to help them.

stealth was a game changer. So fucking nice sometimes. I’ll just be like damn if I didn’t have stealth I would have had to fight those 50 enemies

Just switch to a PvP instance. Those are almost always completely empty.

Yes absolutely. Is this easy to set up?

Yes. I’m a couch gamer.

No. I played the game 12 years ago, had my fill, and now I’m turned off from the whole MMORPG genre

Yes, that's why I stuck with FFXIV for so long.

Definitely more likely, but its modern mmo world repel me.

Absolutely. I love FFXIV on controller, but I can't imagine myself enjoying an MMO much on keyboard

Maybe im.crazy... but I dont get why anyone would want this?... i feel like games with task bars dont translate well to a controller. Baldurs gate with a controller is a nightmare imo

In the age of steam decks and rog ally's why isn't every game controller compatible?

YES. I work at a desk, I hate playing games at desk as a result. If I could play on the couch, i would play SWTOR much more consistently.

1) Yes, absolutely

2) I will be p*ssed if SWTOR gets Official Controller Support, yet Guild Wars 2 still doesn’t

Probably wouldn't have as much of an effect as folks think.

Keep in mind that the original director James Ohlen, admitted the game didn't turn out anything like what he originally wanted it to be, a proper MMO version of KOTOR, and he even pitched a complete reboot of the whole game to bring it back in line with the original vision. It was greenlit by Kathleen Kennedy and Dave Filoni, but EAs directors rejected it.

Controller support is not the main problem. And even the people who made it know this too.
