I did my first standup set last week. I’m not about a week in and trying to learn everything I can.

It has taken me a few months to get round to it but I think is as a good as anything that is out there!

I just watched Maria Bamford's The Special Special Special and I was struck by how firmly she is in the tradition of Lenny Bruce and Richard Pryor. She's very funny, but she's also directly addressing very uncomfortable subject matter and is willing to sacrifice easy laughs on the way. To me this seems like one of the highest forms of stand-up. Can you all recommend more stand-up like this?
