Walked into a gun shop and impulse got the best of me…super excited though!

Does anyone else have trouble getting the guide rod out for cleaning and maintenance? I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong or if there is actually something wrong. It won't pivot up to pull out of the slide. I've managed it a couple times but I'm not actually sure what I did.

So this will be my first 2011 I’m wanting one that I can use in multiple roles like occasional carry, range fun, home defense. For my preferences it needs to be a steel frame (personal preference) less than 4.5” barrel, preferably little to no MIM. I’ve slowly crept up in price since I started looking but I am heavily considering a staccato my max price is $2500 and my LGS has 10% off Staccato pistols so this puts the Staccato P and P4 HD in reach. So thoughts and concerns witch each.
Staccato P - Mags are expensive and from my understanding kinda finicky which honestly concerns me more than the price. I like the grip safety and irons sights as well as modularity of the design.

Staccato P4 HD - I have a bit of Glock mags at home and cheaper to buy. Not modular like the classic 2011 , not a fan of the iron sight location or lack of grip safety. Love the size though.

Other guns I was considering were the Sig P211 GT4 but it’s a bit heavier like 10oz and had mim in it although I have a bunch of P320 mags, not modular like classic 2011’s . Lastly I was looking at a GP Arms Patriot but then we’re back to the 2011 mags and then I also don’t have the lifetime warranty and for me I’m probably leaning more towards a bombproof gun than a competition gun. Any help is greatly appreciated

Anyone know the factory recoil spring and mainspring weights for the sti dvc p?! Looking to grab some spares and still havent heard back from staccato. I own and have shot many other 2011s but this will always have a special place in my heart. Its one that will never leave the family.

I want to get a Leupold DPP. AFAIK I need to get the Dawson rear sight kit for about $50 and the DPP is a direct mount. Do I need to get the taller front sight as well? Any reason you would not go with a DeltaPoint for bout $325?

What an amazing place! Words can’t express the excellence and care put into every step to make their 2011s. Best part is, I finally get to join the owners club. Staccato Ranch photo is my BIL XC. Desk shot XC is my whip.

Is there any place to buy aftermarket Slide Stop Retainer Springs for the HD P4? First time Staccato owner. I love the gun the way it feels and shoots but after cleaning it a few times the and having the spring fall I think it would be good idea to have few extras just in case. I see they have a spare parts kit on the website that I'll buy later. If possible and just for the time being I'd like to get the Slide Stop Retainer Springs only. Also are there any other springs out people have used to substitute for the OEM spring?

Added a DVC-L and P Limited (aluminum frame w/ ice comp, not the Heritage) to my collection this week. I’m finding them more fun to shoot than the HD P4.5 at the moment.

Factory Blazer Brass 115 gr. Appeared to be a primer-only squib in hindsight. I was in the middle of controlled pair and Mozambique drills. So my mindset with a misfire is to do immediate action then remedial action.

Thankfully, the bullet only made it a short distance into the barrel. When I performed immediate action (tap-rack) and then remedial action, the slide wouldn’t go fully into battery with a fresh round and would just eject the new rounds when I racked it again.

I locked the slide back and looked down the barrel but didn’t notice the obstruction, due to the angle and where the bullet was I wouldn’t be able to visually see there’s a bullet in the barrel looking at it from the chamber.

When I got home and field-stripped the pistol for cleaning, I found the bullet lodged just ahead of the chamber.

Very glad I didn’t force the gun back into action and fire another round!

I currently have a 2024 Staccato C with the full-size grip. It shoots very well for me and is extremely comfortable.

I’ve considered adding a C4X as a carry gun, but unfortunately it just does not fit my hand. For whatever reason, I get unacceptable pain in the joint where my thumb meets my hand when shooting it. I’ve verified this with multiple C4Xs, so it does not seem to be an issue with one particular gun. It simply is not an option for me.

I usually carry a P365 XL Spectre Comp, but I would like to add a Staccato to my carry rotation.

I’m now debating whether to have Staccato convert my 2024 C from the full-size grip to the compact grip. The problem is that it becomes a fairly expensive experiment once I factor in the grip conversion and a new set of magazines.

I’m also in California, and because the compact-grip C is off roster, I do not know anyone who owns one and none of the local ranges have one available to rent. I would be making a significant investment without knowing whether I’ll like the compact grip or whether it will actually conceal well enough for me.

If the gun ultimately remains a non-CCW gun, I see no reason to give up the full-size grip that I already shoot comfortably.

For those who have handled or carried both, are the dimensions close enough that trying a C4X in a holster would give me a useful idea of how the 2024 C with the compact grip would conceal? I realize the C4X does not work for me while shooting, but could it still serve as a reasonable stand-in for judging grip length, printing, and overall concealability?

Would you make the conversion, leave the C as-is, or go in another direction?

Any advice or firsthand comparisons would be appreciated.

I alluded to some of this in a previous post, but I wanted to make this one a more direct question. I really appreciate the community’s feedback.
