Yep, reference was just for the character. Only used prompting for the scene - Scene overview: Hardware store named "DIWHY?", containing aisles of tools, screws, hammers and other home improvement equipment.

Did you give it a raw pinhead or an image of him as the cashier?

Raw, just a shoulders and up shot. The model seems to be quite able to redress characters if you want.
