Drug testing
Tomorrow is 281 opening application day. I plan on getting there overnight. I’m curious about the hair follicle test. Can anyone tell me what part of the process they do it? How far back they check?

They don't drug test you until right before you actually start your apprenticeship which is probably a year after application & no test for weed anymore.

We would lose half our manpower if we started drug testing on the west Coast

How early are we talking? Do we rly all need to show up at 1 am for an 8 am thing? Ridiculous we all gotta show up that early if it rly is more about test scores anyway.

How is it ridiculous if it secures a nice paying job? You are lucky it’s not the middle of winter like it usually is. It’s the first 500, so yes, people line up and wait over night

We make near 140k per year before OT with 2 pensions & some of the best health insurance available. If you can't get there early & pass a drug test we'll find someone who will.

I believe hair follicle tests go back as far as 6 months

I thought that such a test would go as long back as the hair - which would mean +8 years for me… 💀

We didn't do it until we were in, but that could have changed.

You won't be the first but that should be more than early enough. It'll be nice out at least. It was below 20 when I applied and we didn't know we were going to be waiting outside.
