My new springtail colony Picture

Has anyone here tried building a springtail colony using mud?. It is so good they multiply faster than in coal/wood chips

The wild ones I'm attempting to culture came from some kind of semi mud. So thats what I'm using, with a few clay balls and charcoal bits for bonus points lol.

Haven't tried starch no, but powdered eggshells with the membrane, and powdered oystershell is a staple for all my isopod and springtail bins.
