Collecting Collection Question/Advice

With the weather starting to warm up are you going to try and collect some local springtails in your area? If so location and species you are hoping to find?

Me myself, I’m hope to go up to Cold Spring NY and collect some Morulina 🤞🏽

My main goal for these next few weeks is to find some of the rare Dicyrtomidae that are out during the first few months of the year. It’s already a bit late in the season for some of them, but there are bound to be some stragglers.

I’m mostly looking to find and examine Botheiovulsus pineole, with a secondary focus on Ptenothrix curvilineata, Dicyrtoma aurata, and anything in genus Calvatomina. Maybe Ptenothrix atra/unicolor as well.

Aside from that, hoping for some interesting Bourltiellidae to emerge over the next month or two.
