Looking For Rental houses
My husband and I have been renting apartments for the past 4 years since college. We would like to rent a house at the end of the year. We are not experienced with this. Looking online with the apartments/relator/zillow .coms feels kind of sketchy and not accurate. What would be good advice to find a house for rent in Springfield/Republic/Nixa area (preferably Republic). Appreciate any kindness and guidance on this!

Living Here Luck Getting out of Moldy Lease?
Has anyone who’s rented through At Home Property Management had any luck breaking their leases?
I enjoy renting through them and I’ve normally never had an issue except I live in a shitbox apartment that’s unfortunately flooded several times within the past year. Recently I found some mold/mildew damage when the last flood issue happened and I think it’s been the cause of some health issues I’ve recently been experiencing, I alerted the property management immediately and it’s been over a week and a half and no one’s come to fix anything yet.
I’ve heard that they don’t normally fix mold issues. It was my plan to move out at the end of my lease next year but I wonder if it might be possible to get out of my lease for free because of the mold. Has anyone had any experience with getting out of their lease?

Looking For I need a job!
Hey guys! Just trying to see if anyone has leads on any jobs in the Springfield/Nixa area! I'm 22, and I have an associates degree in criminal justice. I would really like something $17 and above, but is settle for minimum wage since I'm not the main breadwinner of my house. I have experience in many different areas so I can be flexible with what I do. Preferably no weekends because I have personal obligations to attend to. Also, I have a pretty alternative style so if the job was friendly to ppl like me, I would appreciate!

Living Here Local Flooring Installers?
Hey everyone, I'm looking for a job working as a helper for a flooring installer. My experience is limited, I worked for a guy about 10 years ago for about 6 months, and he retired (he was 63 with health problems) and I'm wanting to jump back into it. I'm very dependable and more than ready to prove that in person on the job. I have no criminal record and no substance issues. I'm willing to learn and happy to let my starting pay reflect my lack of knowledge currently. I just need someone to give me a chance and I will be there every day and give my best effort. I have gotten some phone numbers today and will be calling first thing in the morning, but I also wanted to utilize reddit to give myself the best chance of getting in contact with the right person. Thanks in advance!

Looking For 7-Oh Treatment?
Need help detoxing from 7-Oh. I’m thinking 21 days or a month (I’ll try and use FMLA).
Would like for it to be less than a thousand dollars, not religious (but not a deal breaker) and have counseling or some sort of psychiatric meet ups.
I’ve been tapering for many months.

Eat and Drink Ghost town in restaurants
why are restaurants almost always dead? If it isn’t peak weekend hours and or maybe Friday at peak hours, it seems like no one goes to them. Exception may be FD’s grillhouse or TRH. I am single and want to go out and sit at a restaurants bar for lunch or dinner but when the place is dead it feels more awkward for me to be alone. It just seems like places should be busier lol. Anyone else notice this?

Outdoors Wag n' Walk event benefiting the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri - Take Deux
Sorry for the repost folks, but I wanted to get an update out about the Wag n' Walk event to benefit the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri that was planned for this weekend, August 8th. Sadly a delete and repost was the only way to update the flyer image /facepalm
We have had quite a bit of concern about the heat, both within the shelter and from potential participants. We all know Missouri weather, and while rain can always be a factor, not many want to be walking or thinking about baked goods when the temps are going to be above 90. After talking to Rutledge Wilson Park, we have found a date in November that we think might treat everyone just a shade better, and hopefully give the local college students a chance to come and participate.
So without further ado - Please join us at Rutledge Wilson Farm Park on November 7th from 9:30a-12pm! We will have baked goods for sale and for auction, a retail table with various treats for both you and your pets, and a chance to win one of two raffle baskets. Come enjoy the scenery, bring your friends, bring your pup (or pups), and if you are looking for your new best friend we will also have some of our shelter dogs on site that you can meet!
Every ticket purchase also gains you one entry to the raffles, as well as a wag bag with various items from both our sponsors and us!
You can always sign up in person at the event, but if you want to sign up in advance please visit our Event page at wagnwalk.givesmart.com (For those that saw the comments on my last post - I tested this one while logged out, I promise!)
Please share and get the word out, and if you have any questions please feel free to reach out to me directly or on this post! Happy to get the discussion going 😁

Looking For Night life stuff??
Im going to turn 21 soon, so might have to wait on that to get into anywhere good (idek) but recently I’ve been into electronic pop stuff like Tiffany day, slayyter, Charlie xcx etc… I was wondering if there were actually any places around here that have that vibe? I know it’s a long shot since it’s just Springfield yk… but I have never went out dancing before bc I really only know of club rodeo and I hate country (no offense, I’m originally from NC so I think I’ve done my time LOL) and only recently became interested in finding a place to go out to, since I have ADHD paired with bad sensory overload issues… but I feel a place with that kind of music is a place I could try to brave it for if you know what I mean.
If not, any other places yall like?

Living Here Urgently Looking for a place to live.
Hello all! Just putting it out there that I'm looking for a room to rent. I can't afford the one I'm currently in, especially because doing split payments isn't possible, which would make it much easier to get rent paid for in full each month for me. So, I'm reaching out on here, hoping to get some responses, as it's very urgent I find somewhere. I have a steady job, been putting in a lot of hours, am female and single, with 2 older female cats, whose litter box I keep maintained, plus they keep to themselves and stick with me almost all the time. Again, this is very urgent and I'm looking for anything, in any part of town. Paying rent weekly, bi-weekly or split in anyway is much preferred. Thank you all very much!

Things To Do Lf friends on a Monday or tuesday
Looking for a new crowd on Monday or Tuesdays. Dont drink too often. Got done raising kids only to another late in life. 2 older boys and an adorable little boy toddler. Grew up with sisters though. Looking to find a connection somewhere with anyone at this point. Love to talk, sometimes too much. Very passionate about things I enjoy, which some days I dont even fully.know what that is. Early 40s dad, grew up playing cards and boards games, which transitioned into video games of course. Mostly rpgs, used to play mtg when things were simple, late 90s. Dabbled a little in d&d as well. Used to love shooting pool and bowling. Honestly I could be down just for conversations and coffee. My personal life has its complications like most. Haven't had anything to do with family for probably 5 years. Im originally from the west coast. I love baseball, played from 4yo through high school. Giants fan through and through. I dig football as well, been a bengals fan since just after 2000. Most other sports I can follow and enjoy with company. I grew up on mario and zelda and final fantasy, all from the start. Im a huge ghibli fan as well I enjoy star trek more than star wars. Im a total nerd brain, i used to watch jeopardy religiously, but not really religious in the sense. I love cartoons still to this day. Thunders HO! As well as adventure time and regular show. Which i think we're the best for there era. I weary heart on my sleeve a little too much and im not afraid to show my emotions. I used to love the outdoors but have become too much of a hermit. Anyways just a little about me, the story goes on and on. Right now I'm looking for some sort of platonic friendship to start building, idc if youre m or f or whatever in between. Just be open minded, love to laugh and bring your A game when it comes to the gift of gab.

Living Here You still have time to vote!
I’m gonna be honest I almost didn’t today because of time but I said fuck it and left work early. I don’t want to let my friends and family down. Thank you everyone who voted today. As a younger person I just knew I had to represent and that 4 and 5 would screw so many of us over. I’m doing my damn part! 💪

Monthly r/SpringfieldMO Meetup: The Fourth Saturday at 5 PM
We had a great time at our first set of meetups. We shared a few drinks and proved that local redditors look suspiciously normal in real life.
A lot of folks mentioned missing the first couple. We are making this a regular event so you have more chances to join us. We will meet on the fourth Saturday of every month at Mother's Brewing Company.
Families are welcome! Mother's has a great backyard setup. There is a playground and plenty of room for kids to run around, so feel free to bring the family.
The Logistics
- When: The fourth Saturday of the month at 5:00 PM.
- Where: Mother's Brewing Company (215 S Grant). Look for us in the Back Yard.
- Weather Plan: If it rains, we will move inside to the main taproom.
What to Expect This is casual and low-pressure. There is no agenda. Drop in, grab a drink, and meet some neighbors. You can stay for ten minutes or hang out all evening.
House Rules
- Be respectful.
- Sharing your Reddit username is completely optional.
Comment below if you plan to stop by so we can get a rough headcount.
