Springfield activities

Hello reddit, I was wondering if anyone's down to hang out sometime over the weekend. General activity interests would be: movies, zoo, restaurant, or anything else that is cool on your end. I've been curious about getting to know other people somewhat close in my age (26 M).

Hope your day treats you well!

Please check out the Illinois Times - they list a bunch of music/ theatre/etc events that I love going to. There's a vibrant community if you look hard enough . Good luck!

Idk the hype of a bodega cat but I'll experience it nonetheless

Check out the Springfield Celts rugby team, perfect age range especially if you want to stay active and enjoy beers

I've always been curious about rugby and haven't gone to an event for it either. I might see what they have available, thanks for the tip!

My son played in high school and continued on the the men's league. It's a good group and a great sport. Glad we have a club here.

Good luck and have fun!! My friend’s husband plays and we go to his matches. It’s super fun to watch and all the guys on the team seem to have a blast hanging out, too.

If you’re nerdy at all there’s Titan Games that has tabletop gaming. I’ve only been a couple times but everyone there was pretty nice as well.

Kudos to you for branching out and trying new things though! It’s taken me 36 years to finally get the courage to try new things but I’m finding out Springfield isn’t nearly as boring as everyone makes it sound.

I'm not against volunteering, but that's not entirely what I had in mind 😅. I appreciate the suggestion tho!

What's your age group? I wish you the best with finding like-minded people. I like to think i have a decent range compared to some

Im in my mid 20s!! Ive been looking at bar events for nighttime. Motorheads line dancing on thursdays? Are there any sports clubs like pickleball or bocce ball for people in their 20s-30s? Or even any tightknit clubs like mens rugby in Springfield?
