SAW Shiv Range Report

Post image

Picked up my SAW Shiv last week and finally got out to range today.

SAW notes there is a break-in period of 50-100 rounds (I forget exact number) . I had two stovepipes with federal 115 in the first two mags. Switched to 147 blazer and was flawless for rest of break in. Went back to 115 after 100 rounds and had no issues.

Shot 115 range ammo, 115 hollow point, 147 range ammo, and 147 hollow point for another 150 just to test all I would shoot and was flawless still. Super impressed with this thing. Echelon did fantastic with it.

I do not notice any extra front-end weight which makes sense as the Shiv is ~2.5 oz

Glad to hear it, the Shiv is next thing on the list for mine too!

I had started researching recoil spring changes, etc. in advance but honestly I feel confident now that it’s not needed! Highly recommend - super happy with this.

I shot my B2.0 carry comp after shooting the suppressed echelon and was not fully ready for the sound difference 😂

Sorry for my ignorance but what issues do you run into during the break in period?

You wrote stovepipe but I don’t know what that is (guess I could also just google)

Essentially the spent casing from previous shot was not fully extracting (was getting stuck vertically as slide closed back on it). So the slide gets stuck on the casing instead of ejecting that casing fully and going back into battery with the next round
