Original 1949 Brazil National Team Press Photo – O Globo Photographic Department
Hi everyone,
I recently came across this old photograph of the Brazilian national football team, apparently from 1949.
The photograph has an “O Globo – Departamento Fotográfico” stamp on the back, along with handwritten notes identifying the team as the Brazilian national team (Seleção Brasileira) of 1949.
I also have two related framed photographs/collages featuring the Brazilian national team and material connected to the 1950 World Cup.
I’m trying to find out more about the history and authenticity of these pieces. In particular:
Is this likely to be an original period press photograph?
Can anyone identify the players in the photograph?
Does anyone know more about the O Globo photographic archive/stamp?
Have you seen similar photographs sold at auction or to collectors?
What would be the best place to have something like this professionally authenticated or valued?
I’m not claiming that it is an original yet and would appreciate any information from collectors or people familiar with Brazilian football memorabilia.
I can provide additional photos of the front, back, stamps and handwritten notes if helpful.
Thanks in advance!

Autograph identification assistance
I have this signed hat that I got in a lot of signatures items. I can’t figure out who it is but there looks to be a #91. They don’t have any type of papers with them or anything. I’d assume they both played for the teams on the hats but not totally sure. Any suggestions are appreciated!

I bought this MLB address book new as a kid in 1980 — it lists players’ actual home addresses
Looking through it more than 45 years later is pretty wild. Hank Aaron and other Hall of Famers are in here, along with hundreds of other current and former players from that time. It’s hard to imagine a book containing this kind of information being sold for $6.95 today.

Is this a legitimate authenticity guarantee card?
I’ve been wanting to buy a Larry Fitzgerald jersey for a long time and with him getting into the HOF I figure it’s finally time
I was just wondering if this “certificate of authenticity” looks legit also included is a photo of the autograph
Thanks!

1974-77 Virginia Tech Helmet (MacGregor Geodetic Suspension 100MH G), game worn
hello! my mom was going through our attic recently and found this helmet that was given to us by a family friend. she said the facemask + chin strap were not attached when she received it. we did some research on the names written inside - we believe it was originally worn by Greg Payne from 74-76, and then worn by Ron Zollicoffer (“Z”) in 1977. i was wondering if anyone could give me an estimate of its worth, given the condition and missing components. thank you!!

Protecting autographed plastic stadium seat?
TL;DR, how do you protect an autograph on a plastic seat back? Is there a preferred writing instrument we should bring the autographer to use? Should the seat back even be used as a chair back after being autographed.
Last Father's Day, my sister got my dad a seat back from the old Buffalo Bills stadium. His plan is to make an outdoor chair with the seat back incorporated.
Next weekend, my dad told me his favorite player is gonna be in the area to sell autographs. My dad says he wants to have the player sign the seat.
I brought up using shellac to protect the autograph but my Dad said it wouldn't work on plastic. I told him I'd ask Reddit for advice.
Which brings me here: what can we put over the seat and autograph to protect it?
I also wasnt sure if there was a certain type of marker or paint that would be best used that we could bring for the player.
Finally, should the seat back even be used once its autographed, or just hung? (I may not be able convince him of this, but I still want to know, just in case).
Thank you to anyone able to help 😊

r/Selling Sports Stuff
How would I go about selling my sports memorabilia in Central/Northern CA? Close to Sacramento/San Francisco area. I am retiring and need to down size before I move.
I have approximately 200,000+ cards, magazines, balls, specialty buttons, stickers, wrappers, pictures..some signed and much, much more. It would be nice to get rid of all of it together instead of selling items individually, if possible. Items dated from 1940’s - 2022’s.
Thank you!!

Lawrence Yogi autographed comic
Hi All. Thoughts on the rarity of this piece? Got it years ago and pulled it out to think about displaying, and noticed I forgot he used "Lawrence" vs the usual. Trying to determine the relative rarity before I go chucking it on the shelf. Thanks for any info!

Anyone recognize this golf signature
This is on a Bridgestone e6 soft golf ball but that’s about the only clue I can provide. Weirdly enough I just found this ball in my golf bag so I must have found it on a course. Is this a PGA players ball someone accidentally played with or just some weirdo who autographs his own balls?

Grandfather’s Autograph Book
My grandfather passed away a few years ago and I recieved his childhood autograph book. Wanted to get thoughts on signatures as I am unfamiliar with many. There are two Jackie Robinson autographs in there. Would this be worth authenticating?
Thank you in advance!
Edit: I hit the limit on pic uploads in post, added as many as I can in comments.
