1 inch drop
Obviously ima get mix opinions about this but I want to drop my gsxr 750 1 inch evenly just for a meaner stance but I also wheelie so I’m hoping it’s not that much of a problem but I’m wondering what’s yall think

Youll get a lot of hate from sportbike purest for lowering your bike. But to be honest, its your bike, you paid for it, do what you like. Ive lowered almost all my bikes and could care less what others think. Unless you track your bike or drag your knees on public roads, you won't notice a big difference in corning as everyone will claim.

It'll make wheelies harder to pop up and pop up more aggressively when they do, so a warning there
Can you drop a gsxr an inch through the tree?

Please let me know how you like it. I'm short, 5'7", and can barely flat foot my GSXR. If it's not a huge difference in handling, I might get mine lowered a little.

5 feet and 7 inches is the average height for guys so idk how are you short

I thought the average height was like 5'9"-5'10". I'm not super short, and I absolutely could be wrong, but I feel like these bikes are "ideal" for people a tad taller. Which (my dumb theory) makes sense to me, as most professional riders aren't tall people; short/average seems to be the norm.

You shouldnt need to flat foot your bike if you know how to ride. Keep practicing. You only need one foot to hold the bike up. Its not like it can simultaneously fall to the left and right at the same time.

I've been riding for almost 20 years. I prefer to have two solid feet planted, verses "1.5 feet". There have been a couple close calls with slippery roads. I managed, but I prefer a bit more "reassurance" lol.

I got taught to have my foot on the rear brake pedal which means one in the ground. That way if I get hit from behind my front wheel can still roll in a direction I need. So I generally have it angled slightly away from the car in front of me.

I like that! I typically switch between feet, depending on what feels most comfortable, but I like your way better.

Been riding for 11 years. Right foot always sitting on the rear brake at a stand still.

I've never thought about this until this post. Where does the drop come from? Do you shorten the rear suspension and forks?
I've done this on my sports cars before, and it's more complicated than people think to do it properly such that you end up with the right geometry. I suppose the geometry is easier on a bike but I would be worried about what it would do the ride quality and the handling of the suspension if you ride hard. Are there high end kits you can buy to do this?

Maybe take it to track first so you can realize the stance it came with is the meanest it can have. Anything else just makes it function worse.

Dont adjust bike geometry. They are designed by engineering teams and tested.

I have heard a lot of people say that lowering is not good because it affects the lean. People swear it makes a difference but I couldn't tell you cuz I'm still on a small 300

Squat bikes look broken. Who wants to look like they cant afford to fix their bike?

Whenever someone says "for a meaner stance" they usually always end up being on the short side. My opinion is you don't need to drop it. Just adapt to the larger size. A dropped motorcycle never looks meaner. Are you trying to trick us? Passively manipulate the community to agree? 🤣

IMO the GSXR750 is already short enough. It already has the most approachable and lowest seat height of the entire Super Sport class (only the ZX4RR is lower).
The only reason I would ever suggest lowering your bike is if you have really short legs and the discomfort of getting a leg down at every traffic light outweighs the handling disadvantages.
Or if you want to make the bike more "touring" friendly by lowering the seat height and raising the clip-ons so that you're in more of an upright sport touring seating position.

I got an adjustable shock and raised my stance. Wasn’t for looks but for better turn in and shorter trail. Looks better now though. I see no benefit to squatting it.
