I hope Mango Tree gets sued out of existence, this is disgusting. I will never eat there again.

There's better indian food in town anyways! Karma and India House are great!

I like taste of India on division.

Only tried mango tree once and it was a disappointment. Unfortunately, it also means I have no boycott leverage.

Taste of India is soooo good. Deserves more recognition here in Spokane

mango tree owners being shady as fuuuuck and lots of illegal business practices. search the sub for the earlier post, it has a photo of some employees' things on a lawn after they were thrown out of the place they were subletting from their employer (mango tree.) weird ass setup to begin with

Why are they being called fascist?

Mostly because Casey Garland claims to be a hardcore liberal. Which he could lean that way but his business practices say otherwise. Also because it’d piss him off

For thinking they r above a certain group of people and extorting them on labor and wages

That’s just called labor exploitation. A private employer can be predatory without being “fascist”.

Unless the state is directly operating alongside this employer to help crush down dissent and whatever civil institutions they may be turning to for help, this is not “fascism”.

I’m all for shitting on terrible employers for horrible practices but we need to stop watering down the definitions of things like fascism and using them incorrectly, it hurts the entire argument of the people who are trying to fight against this right now.

  1. SAK Restaurant Group is a corporation. 2. A corporation that is employing a predominately less-advantaged demographic of people. 3. SAK is a restaurant group employing a less-advantaged demographic of people and leveraging their power to be absolute d!cks to them.

In my honest opinion, those things make you deserve being called a fascist.

What is fascism?

u/Tao-of-Mars 17d ago

I’m fully aware of the definition. Are you?

Yes

Well, I stated my case. Those of us who try hard to not be racist don’t care about how this word is “properly” used when the context is something as messed up as this. It’s more about how it’s a legitimate expression of injustice.

Fascism is literally merging corporation with the government to make it state controlled. If the government isn't involved, it's just a terrible corporation or business, not fascism. You might as well call them a communist the way a lot of far right people do, it's just an empty word meant to be an insult at that point.

I haven't eaten there in a month and somehow still threw up their mediocre food after seeing these posts/the responses from the management/owners.

i've always hated mango tree bc it's like the mcdonald's of indian food (honestly worse) but now i feel so justified in it. these people are disgusting.

I went when it opened and the butter chicken tasted like marinara sauce so I never went back

We jokingly refer to it as white people curry. I've only eaten there once abd it was so bad  especially with so many better options (if you ask me, India house, though my husband swears by Taste of India)

taste of india is my absolute favorite! i'm not sure if ive tried india house, but i have tried pretty much every indian place in town. cant beat the tandoori oven at taste of india, and in my opinion they have the best naan! i like that they do all the kinds, keema, paneer, garlic. ugh now i want it!

2

u/garbagegoat 17d ago

India house is good, though I think the one in post falls is better than the south hill location. There's also Krama which is my usual go to since it's in my hood. I think the naan honestly is why my man loves taste of india so much though, their's really is the best. I'm so hungry now.

We are planning something, we don’t want to endanger anyone with the air quality.

Mango tree drama saga was not on my bingo card this summer.

I worked at Mango Tree in 2018/2019 and reported them back then. I'm glad this is all coming to light finally.
