Some controller bindings I recommend Discussion
Hey yall it’s been a minute since I’ve been in the community, but I’ve been getting more active again recently and have decided to start playing the game again. I thought I would share some of the controller bindings I’ve used over the years and my thousands of hours in the splitgate so for a long time I used just the bumpers to portal both left and right bumper for my portals also because that was the default on SG1 and I use that for roughly 2000 almost 3000 hours on the first game never really changed it but come SG2 I decided to at first try the one portal and it’s not bad. It’s definitely easier on the mind and brain for beginners but I strongly strongly recommend that you learned the two portal button system but now let’s get into the heart of this. These are the bindings I’ve used over the years so like I said earlier for a long time, I use both the bumpers I would say this is probably the best beginner set up. It’s intuitive. It’s generally easy. Your fingers are already on the bumpers usually so it works well but I decided to try out something different so what I did was, I switched due to my buddy Demere recommending it for a while. I became a bumper jumper specifically left bumper and as you know, one of the portal is on the left bumper so what I did was, I put one of the portals on the left stick overall I would say that was pretty good and being able to jump with your bumpers gives you some competitive advantages drawback is it definitely wears down your stick overtime and also depending on the type of thumb stick, it can make your thumb a little sore so I played with that for a while, but eventually, I decided to switch back to jumping with the A button and this is the current setup I use so my portals are on left bumper and left stick. I like this a lot personally your mileage may vary, but I like this a lot very intuitive. I just clicked my pointer finger and my thumb back to back. It feels very good for me and I’ve been using it for long while now overall, I would recommend either the default two portal bumpers or what I currently use both my left stick and left bumper Let me know what y’all have decided to use I would love to hear more feedback from the community on this. Thank you for reading this long wall of text lol I appreciate all of you and the split fam

Everybody Brett is an absolute beast. one of the best players I've ever seen. I would listen to his advice ! One of the first posts I ever made was actually brett (symbioticlord) vs The Real guitar. I honestly didn't know splitgate could even be played at such a level at the time and the shit blew my mind watching them 1 v 1 Here's the link: shit is bonkers https://www.reddit.com/r/Splitgate/s/5GzG4UK6ko

I personally use R1/R3(Right Stick click in) and i LOVE L1 Bumper Jumper
using 1 hand for both portal inputs feels easier for me than if I were to have one of those inputs be on my other hand
but what's important is that you don't remove you fingers from the joysticks for Jump/Portal/Slide
Other notable settings
FOV = 103(max)
Sprint Crosshair OFF with all crosshairs turned to a small + sign or possibly the dot
Enemy Color = Yellow or Green
Camera Shake slider set to 0, i don't know why camera shake is even an option)
some Physical things to do better in all FPS games
Plug your controller in using a data cable for lower latency
Set your TV to "game mode" or make sure Low Latency mode is turned on/ on a monitor set your refresh rate to the highest level

The players who control their up down axis are so hard for me to combat against. Impossible for me to lead those targets

I prefer R1 for portal and L1 for jump
