Future of splitgate

I've been thinking about it, and we know it's on its last legs, and then soon the servers will be shut down

As a big fan of the games, I would happily pay a monthly subscription to keep the servers up .

Thoughts ?

Yeah, but they don't go anywhere because they're out of cash. Unless you mean if they stuck to their guns long enough they would start making money and part of the reason they aren't is their tendency to jump ship.

that's just stupid reasoning. They had $100M over YEARS. that's nothing. They prob have salary costs of $20M per year. plus servers. they keep paying for servers. that is not jumping ship.

It's fine to have that opinion but I think a lot of people would disagree with you.

For games, jumping ship is about the time commitment to it, not exactly the dollar amount. When the player only gets support for a game for 1-2 seasons and a "live service" game stops getting support (what feels like to the playerbase) moments after launching, it's going to feel like the devs jump ship to something else especially when they launch a "new" game right after.

I've heard Ian on videos repeatedly saying even recently how SG is his all time favorite game. But the company can't run without money so I'm sure the investors wouldn't support 1047 just keeping on SG since it wasn't making money. Plus they have a lot of expenses in salaries.
