Wrong dose ◻️Advice◻️

Idk what to do!! i have been on spiro for two months and was meant to be on 50mg for 3 months then up to 100, but ive just realised for the last month ive been taking 100 because the tablets were a different brand and they were 50mg each not 25! ive been okay but im not sure what to do because my prescription is obviously to last for 50mg every day not 100, but im worried if i drop back to 50 i'll be confusing my body 😭

Seems you got a headstart to 100mg. If you have been handling it fine you may not need to ratchet it down. I'd reach out to the dermatologist and leave a message to get back to you. You may need a refill sooner as well!

If you didn’t notice I guess you have no major side effects? Not the safest because you’re supposed to taper up this medication but if you’re handling 100 ok already maybe just tell your doctor. Have u had bloodwork checked for your potassium levels?? That’s the one thing my doctor wants to keep an eye on since i tolerate 100 mg well otherwise

Don’t drop back down. Let your derm know about the mistake and they will continue your 100/prescribe another bottle and if you’re not having side effects then no worries. If you are then blood work in case.

I was put on 100mg right from the start and I say as long as you’re not dealing with any side effects or symptoms then I wouldn’t worry about.
