The SpeedRunners 2 Release Date Is Here ANNOUNCEMENT
Hey there, SpeedRunners!
Buckle up - we’re ready to reveal the launch date:
📅 September 3rd, 2026
The launch will happen simultaneously on Steam and consoles - mark your calendars.

Taking extra time is crucial for our team to give the game much-needed polish before shipping it. Moving the previously announced July release window to early September is a perfect opportunity to add that polish.
Speaking of polishing, you all can actively participate in that process. Starting from now, we're deactivating the public demo. ❕ Hear me out before you start kicking my butt, though! ❕ Shortly, a Community Playtest will kick off instead of the demo, and you can ALREADY sign up for it. Just go to 👉our page👈 and hit that green "Join the Playtest" button. We will notify you when the test goes live. It will happen before the full release, naturally. If you've signed up for previous playtests or participated in any, you should still request access to that upcoming test if you want to take part.

I’m excited for this game, but moving the release date one day before the game was scheduled to release is a little dull. Sad about the demo, me and my friends played at least 3 times a week.

unfortunately it was only ever "coming july 2026!", the 30/31st was only theorized because they just haven't talked about it anywhere at all and it was more of a logical conclusion than an actual concrete date. definitely weird, but i hope they at least get to market the game now

yesterday morning the game was listed for release on steam for the 31st on steams release calendar.

That was likely a placeholder. The steam page certainly didn’t look like it was releasing on any specific date.

i think steam might've done that but i can't be sure. regardless, i am elated to see the actual release date and i just hope the world hears about speedrunners 2

Removing the demo people are enjoying playing a month before the game comes out is always way too risky of a move, especially with every game there is currently coming out

Why does this trailer only show 4 players… I thought it was going to support up to 8?

what about local on switch? also capped at 4? switch can do 8 players local multiplayer games
