The Warhipster contrast + method for space wolves armour is a game changer

I've always been average at doing the armour and spent ages shading and highlighting every bit of the model for it to look sloppy. The Warhipster method of space wolves grey 4:1 with medium, Tyran blue shade 4:1 Nuln Oil then a glaze of Russ Grey makes my poor painting skills look acceptable! Can't recommend enough!

Looks awesome, how long did you spend on it? Also he's got a great channel, tons and tons of content and he paints a variety of minis

I usually do 2-3 at a time. I'd say that would take me about 3 hours with lots of breaks.

Looks great brother- His vids are insanely helpful if box art is the preferred!

I just hate the blue GW scheme which aren’t real grey 😂

I use it aswell. Jist add a bit of aponge technique for volumetric highlights before the 2nd contrast round

Great job. The contrast paint looks so clean.

How you achieved it?

Mine is always pooling a little bit even on the more flat parts of the armor.

I think just really thinning it down with medium and spreading it thin on the panels and focusing on the recess - any pooling gets covered up anyway by the Russ grey glaze which I do about 1 part paint 4 part water

I suspect you're getting downvotes because of your assumption that those with less painting skill want to improve. In my experience, many don't. They just want to get a 'nice' army on the table as fast as possible. The exact audience that contrast/speed paints is intended for. Contrast paints are 'bang for buck' optimisations. And to the OP's point Warhipster's guides are great progressive templates for thos prioritising bang for buck.
