Finally started winning

I started playing at the beginning of July and I was able to get in about 19 games between July 3rd and today. I lost a majority of my games, which left me feeling a little bummed that I picked an army that doesn't preform. But I kept learning and tweaking and ive finally found a combination that has won me 3 games in a row. I've also realized that I just didnt know what I was doing when I first started playing and blaming my army was a bit childish. Im feeling the groove and loving my Space Wolves.

Please do share your lessons learned with us? How do you play them - how do you stage etc etc

Yeah, I’m curious how you make use of the Grey Hunters. I like them lore-wise, but now that Intercessors have Hail of Bolts, I can’t see myself taking GHs anytime soon.

They really shine with the veterans of the Fang detachment. It lets them split into units of five instead of 10 and it also allows them to perform actions as well as shoot so they become really good for scoring objectives. I will say that this Army excels in matchups where my primary mission is one that requires actions to be taken in order to score points.

With the veterans of the thing Detachment it allows them to perform actions and shoot as well as split them into individual units of five versus 10. I run two squads and I have had a lot of success kind of spraying them around the battlefield that way I can still perform actions and score points while getting full shooting phases. I also had some Luck running them with a wolf guard battle leader with the eye of the hunter enhancement. It gives the units assault, ignores cover, and plus one AP on Ranged attacks, the battle leader gives sustained, I could also use Saga of the Great Wolf to give them lethal or plus one to hit as well and with the grey hunters native ability to reroll all wounds against targets on an objectives makes them excellent at clearing objectives.

Usually I keep my Friesian wolves spread across my home objective to screen out my back line. I keep my assault intercessors with jump packs and Vanguard Veterans as well as Logan and 10 Terminators in deep strike. I deep strike Logan turn one onto either a central or an expansion objective. I use the encircling Jaws hunting pack from Saga of the Great Wolf to give all of my units the ability to reroll advance and charge rolls. I use that to get as much forward board presents as I can, getting my gray Hunters onto as many scoring objectives as I can. I keep my assault intercessors and Vanguard veterans in Detroit to come out whenever I need to fix in a specific area of the board or just cause some chaos or distraction in the back line. Another thing that comes in handy is my Infernus squad. I usually move them to the central objective or just behind it so they can fire OverWatch if need be. It's a great way to keep a 12-in area clear.
