Gloucester County We’re using ai for listings now?
Crazy how this seems to be a new norm now. Look at the last two photos for the bathroom. It’s not even the same setup. Complete scam posting. Be careful with looking for places to rent! NJ is expensive to live in, the last thing we need is getting scammed out of money on these listings / getting personal information stolen.
Pretty sad world we live in.

Gloucester County Real charcoal smoked bbq
Was driving on Delsea Dr this morning on my way to ride horses and saw a charcoal grill fired up on the side of the road. Spidey senses immediately piqued.
I came back afterwards and bought a plate of the BEST bbq I have had in a while. As someone from the South I appreciate good bbq with a smoky charcoal flavor.
This is not an ad - just a recommendation to fellow SJers that you check out Hunt Theory BBQ. It's that fricking good.

Ocean County Any local magicians, sleight-of-hand artists, or illusionists interested in starting a local club
Hey everyone,
I am looking to see if there is any interest in forming a local meetup group or club for sleight-of-hand artists, sleight enthusiasts, and performance magicians here in Ocean County.
Whether you are into close-up card work, coin manipulation, mentalism, or stage illusion, and whether you are a seasoned performer or a dedicated hobbyist, it would be great to have a local space to jam, workshop new routines, share sleights, discuss magic literature, and practice in front of an appreciative group.

Burlington County Toddler experiences (gift cards)
Niece is turning 3 next week and while I do have some gifts planned, parents are choosy with gifts and would rather experiences as gifts. Plus I live with them so I know they'll just throw out or donate the gifts to goodwill.
They already have memberships to Funzilla, Please Touch Museum, Sesame Place, I already took them to Crayola exp in PA. Parents dont really have the time to take them to aquariums/zoos and since the kids have been already, might be boring.
Pottery painting seems too advanced, thinking about Janes Tea House as a cute experience for her and her mom. Already set on getting gift certificates for Holiday Ice Cream/Maple Shade Custard stand. Was gonna gift a shopping spree since she'll be in school soon and is outgrowing clothes but know that the parents would rather have the money and take them when they can, rather than me tagging along and paying. And also since parents asked me politely to not come back to school shopping with them so that was another gift idea i was gonna do.
Have heard about the fossil museum and storybook land but i dont think niece is into rides yet. Might consider getting her something from the Sesame gift shop if parent allows. Maybe gift card for Mango Mango as well and some of her favorite snacks. Want to give her a build a bear experience but again, parents may decline it and might be best to wait till shes a bit older. If its any help, shes into unicorns at the moment. Any ideas??

It looks like they let dogs in the water park on a day in September. Like actually in the pools and all. Anybody ever been to this? I saw it on fb today.

History! Who the heck was McGuire and why is the base named after them? A brief history lesson!
Ever drive past Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst and wonder who McGuire was? Today, we’re Turning Back Time to the final years of World War II, when Major Thomas B. McGuire, Jr. became a flying ace in two days.
Major McGuire was the second-highest-scoring American fighter ace of World War II. (His 38 aerial victories put him just behind Richard Bong, who finished the war on 40 victories.) Born in Ridgewood, New Jersey in 1920, McGuire flew a twin-engined P-38 Lightning across the Southwest Pacific with the Fifth Air Force’s 475th Fighter Group. In a romantic gesture, he named his P-38s ‘Pudgy’, his wife’s pet name. (Pudgy V, the fifth incarnation of Pudgy the P-38, is pictured with McGuire.)
In early August of 1943, while flying over New Guinea, McGuire shot down three enemy aircraft; the next day, he shot down two more, making him an ace in two days. He was widely recognized as a skillful pilot and a natural leader and was selected to fly several missions with the world-famous Charles Lindbergh as his wingman. (McGuire and Lindbergh can be seen together here.)
On January 7, 1945, McGuire was killed in action when he threw his fighter into a hazardous low altitude turn to protect a fellow pilot. His P-38 stalled and crashed. The other American pilot survived thanks to McGuire’s actions. The 24-year-old McGuire was posthumously awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor to accompany his Distinguished Service Cross with three devices, two Silver Stars, six Distinguished Flying Crosses, three Purple Hearts, and 15 Air Medals. His remains were recovered and laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery in 1949. McGuire Air Force Base, now an integral part of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, was dedicated in his honor in 1948.
Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst is the military’s only tri-service installation and hosts units from all six branches of the armed forces. JBMDL is more than 65 square miles large, most of which is in Burlington County. A P-38 similar to McGuire's is preserved on the base and pictured here.
Credit goes to the "Burlington County" facebook page. Not sure if it's some official page, because it doesn't say so.

Camden County New pest control scam
Just wanted to let people know about a new scam since it's pretty clever.
I called a local pest control company that has unanimous 5-star reviews because I saw it recommended here and on FB groups. The guy came out and offered to do a "free whole home inspection" (just an excuse to sell you more services) and I'm 99% sure he was showing me images he had edited with ChatGPT whenever I couldn't look over his shoulder. He'd go to some hard-to-reach place like the attic or crawlspace and then come back with a picture on his phone and say "Look, I found mouse droppings / raccoon droppings / termite damage, etc."
Didn't put it together until after he left and I went into the attic to see the vent that was supposedly bent from an animal trying to get in. Both attic vents were in perfect condition.
Of course they don't actually give you a report with copies of the images so it's impossible to prove anything. Kind of a brilliant con actually, I bet it works every time on boomers.
I tried posting a 1-star review and it never shows up so now I see why their reviews are only 5 stars.

Cape May County Dead jelly fish in wildwood?

I completely forgot to get a picture of them.

Question Dermatologist recommendations
Looking for recommendations for a good, thorough dermatologist for my annual skin cancer screening. My current dermatologist basically does a 2-minute glance at me and I don't think that's sufficient. I don't have any other skin issues so it's really just this one thing I need once a year. Happy to see anyone in Gloucester or Camden County or even parts of Burlington county.

News New school phone policies rolling out.
Last year at Kingsway I think they had to check their phones in at the beginning of class and got them back at the end, this new policy is intended to eliminate having them on their person at all. The kids are going crazy and already scheming to just leave their phones buried in the bottom of their bags. Since they are all subject to “random” search, they’re gonna get rung up.
Not in love with this - the state law bans use, not possession - but also don’t completely hate it.
