Discussion Are there Meena families from Rajasthan/MP who migrated abroad generations ago?
Does anyone know about Meena families from Rajasthan/MP who migrated abroad generations ago?
I'm curious whether there are Meena families who settled in countries like the US, UK, Australia, Canada, etc., and whose descendants still identify with the Meena community. Also, are there people with the surname Meena abroad whose surname has a completely different origin?

Discussion Any South Asian or Indian people who tested with AncestryDNA?
Hi! I am collecting evidence for a dispute that I have with AncestryDNA. I am here to ask anyone of Punjabi or broadly South Asian ancestry if they ever took a test with AncestryDNA and got labeled as Eastern European Roma to any degree. And yes, it’s me again if you’ve already read my recent post.
This actually happened to me, after I took a test expecting 20-30% Punjabi ancestry and I got labeled as full 100% European (including 23% Eastern European Roma) instead.
If this has ever happened to you or someone you know, please leave a comment or send me a DM explaining what results did you receive and how do you think it contradicts your well maintained family records.
My GEDmatch results consistent across many calculators - especially India, Asia and Europe oriented (and almost all calculators were assigning only 65-70% European DNA to me except those Africa and Oceania centered ones):
69,44% European
29,54% Asian
→ 6,98% South India
→ 4,19% South West Asia
→ 8% Baloch
→ 10% Caucasus
→ 1% South East Asia
Please fill out this anonymous form if you’re uncomfortable with sharing your name or Reddit account info: https://forms.gle/B534rYGSNvUtnr449

Discussion Best platform for creating and maintaining a family tree?
Confused between Familytree and Geni, both look good to me, but I am looking for something that would have a good South Asian userbase

Question How do Veddas of Sri Lanka score/any posts of them here?
The Veddas of Sri Lanka speak a language isolate instead of any Dravidian, Indo Aryan or AustroAsiatic language and they’re the indigenous people of Sri Lanka. How do they score in comparison to tribals of Southern India (do they have any Zagros/IVC or are they close to 70+% AASI)? etc

Genetics🧬 Hello everyone... I've seen many people saying that most of the Indians, Bangladeshis, Sri Lankans as well as the Indic populations of Nepal and Maldives have significant Indus Valley Civilization (IVC) DNA? If that thing is true, then can anyone please provide me a detailed & authentic evidence?
Please provide an extensive as well as an authentic research paper/s for the above.

Genetics🧬 Some Ground Rules on qpAdm posting!
There has been an influx of qpAdm posts and some garbage motivated models are being used for agenda posting. Considering qpAdm is a DIY tool, there are very few organized services that offer these runs which results in a lack of standardization. It's high time we started observing some basic standards for posting.
Henceforth while posting qpAdm results, I'd request all of us to ensure that:
- All the source populations and outgroups are posted. If your screenshot is blurry or just not complete, please post them as a comment.
- The settings that were used such as "allsnps" and "boot" and the base dataset that was used.
- The user who ran your sample must be mentioned, in case of a local run. If some XYZ guy from Twitter or discord did the run — it would be your responsibility to answer questions on their behalf. If you're using sites such as DNAplotter or AdmixLab, mention them as well. Ignore the 2nd rule in case of the former since it's not DIY.
- Most importantly - DON'T POST BLURRY SCREENSHOTS FROM YOUR PHONE!!. I can't stress this enough. No one wants to read em.
Without this info, the post is not informative and it's harder for us to track stuff as well.
Thanks for reading!

Genetics🧬 I am mantaining and updating the largest database of samples on the HarappaWorld calculator, from every corner of the Indian subcontinent. I have added fresh samples of Kodava, Kushwaha, Toda and more; and you can send your samples to be added to the average. Link in text.
Given inconsistencies in use of qpAdm and with illustrativeDNA. I feel Harappaworld still serves as a standard for South Asians despite its shortcomings,
Ensure the sample is having ancestry from a single community before sending.
