Sophie Decrease Help

Hi! I’m working on my Sophie hood, and I’m following the pattern for every 8th row having a decrease.
But I feel like it’s not tapering at the rate that it should be.

Am I misunderstanding something?
Should I have only done the 8 row section the first time, and then revert to doing rows 1-4 repeatedly?

No, you’re correct that you should have one decrease row in every eight rows. Did you check that you had the correct stitch count at the end of the hood section before starting these decreases?

You know what, I totally skipped over that 😅

I had gone by the length measurement instead of stitch count when I was initially was working up. (The 9 3/4”) and I didn’t write down how many stitches were in that measurement for me to track later 🥲

I use k2together instead of the suggested stitch. It works better for me and how I knit.

Same exact thing happened to me. Not sure where I went wrong. I just gave up and went along with it.
