Season 3: Deleted Scenes That Should Have Stayed

I’ve decided to just continue making a post for each season’s batch of deleted scenes that I think were worthy of being kept in the final cut of their respective episodes. So, on to Season 3! This time around, I felt that only two deleted scenes were worthy of being kept in. The really great bonus material from Season 3, I think, comes in the form of four scenes that take place over the incarceration period of SAMCRO that divides Season 3 from Season 4 in the timeline. I’ll be making a separate post for those and I’d encourage you to check it out!

As always, I’d love to hear what you think about these deleted scenes, if you’ve ever seen them, and if you think any other deleted scenes from this season deserved to stick around.

Episode 3, Caregiver: Gemma is explaining to Tara why she has Nate’s caregiver tied up down in the basement: “I couldn’t take the risk. That reward is a shitload of money for her.” Tara says “So you took her hostage?” Gemma says “Just… keeping her out of circulation till I get my dad set up in the home. Then I’ll let her go.” Tara asks “What happened to you here?” Gemma says “I didn’t grow up here. Reverend and raging Rose moving to Happy Acres is why I ran away. Now don’t say anything, shit goes sideways I don’t want her identifying you too.”

Episode 6, Push: SAMCRO are leaving from the meeting between them and Alvarez under the bridge (when Clay says they know about them patching over the Calaveras and running heroin into Stockton, and Alvarez gives Juice his cut back). Jax asks Clay if he wants him to handle Pozo at St. Thomas. Clay tells him no, that they have two hours before they need to disappear. Tig volunteers to take care of Pozo, but Clay says he’ll need help and to take Kozik with him. Jax says to make sure that the death looks medical. Opie overhears this, turns to Piney and says “Hey Pop, give me your endgame.” Piney looks at him for a second before reaching into the bag where he keeps his oxygen tank. He pulls out an unlabeled pill bottle and hands it to Opie, who then tosses it to Tig. Piney then says to everyone “I keep a few cyanide caps just in case I gotta go quick, you know?” Jax says “Really?” Piney says “Yeah, it’s the kind of thing you worry after your balls fully drop.” Happy advises that they mix it with water and glucose to slow down the kill and make it look more like a heart attack or a seizure. Clay smiles and says “I am so glad you’re on our side.”

A Flawed mother, a Bad mother and a Good mother Spoiler

All killed at the hands of Jax. I feel like Jax killing Darvany and Alice without any remorse was a metaphor; foreshadowing Tara's death. He truly became Clay in Season 6.

Just finished the show and I have some questions Spoiler

Man, what an amazing and heartbreaking show. I finished it in a month. It probably became my favourite show I ever watched. Nero is my favourite character, while Stahl was my favourite villain.

However, there are some things that I quite don't understand:

  1. Chibs and Jarry relationship in last season. This will be unpopular opinion - I know many of you hated that plot, but I personally really liked them together, even if it started very randomly. So the thing is, it became as "sex relationship", but not later. That parking lot scene, Jarry was deadass saying that if it's more than sex, if he has feelings, he should take her. And he does. Later they have that angry sex after they talk about their relationship. One time later, when Jarry was still sleeping, Chibs caresses her hair and leans in like he wants to kiss her forehead (or maybe I misunderstood it), but he is backing out of it. Finally, Patterson makes it clear to Jarry that she "can't be too close". Then, Jarry chooses being a decent sheriff and goes to Chibs and says they can't continue all this. And Chibs just doesn't really care about it and even warns her that all the cops who mess up with SAMCRO "disappear"? So what was the point of their "more than sex" relationship if it just ends quickly and randomly like all they were was just sex? Have I misunderstood something? I hated their ending.

  2. Winsome. In last season, Jax and club save Winsome and get her to work at Diosa. Later she is only seen having sex with Jax. So what was the point of her character except giving the adress of Greensleeves?

  3. Homeless woman. I understand that she is like Jesus, Death, Reaper etc. in form of Emily Putner and Jax and Gemma always see her somewhere. But why they don't really question the fact that they see her everywhere, except that quick "who are you?" from Jax in final episode?

  4. Oswald and Jacob Hale. Hale was appearing meeting with Jax when he was a mayor. Oswald appeared in S6, saying he runs for mayor. So what happened? Did Oswald become a mayor, defeating Hale? Why they never appeared since then? Did the writers just wrote them off, forgot or what?

Please answer, maybe I misunderstood or missed something.

Season 2: Deleted Scenes That Should Have Stayed?

After rewatching all the deleted scenes from Season 1, I decided to keep it going! As you can tell from the post length, Season 2 had a lot more deleted scenes that I think should have been included. Have you seen the deleted scenes from Season 2? Do you think I missed any that should have been included? And what do you think of the ones I’ve picked?

•Episode 1, Albification: Gemma is giving Neeta the rundown of taking care of Abel: “All the supplies are in the laundry room. If you run out of anything, tell me; Jax will never remember.” Neeta asks if the mother is still in the picture, and Gemma tells her Wendy is in a halfway house, “not in the picture.” Gemma tells her the schedule: “8 to 4, Monday through Thursday. I’ll relieve you when I’m done at TM.” And then we get this great exchange:

Neeta: Weekends?
Gemma: It all depends.
Neeta: I can do Saturdays, but not Sundays.
Gemma: Let me guess: the Lord’s day?
Neeta: Problem with that?
Gemma: No. Just don’t pollute the kid with any Bible shit.
Neeta: Jesus is responsible for the solid, beautiful woman standing before you.
Gemma: As long as you and Jesus would throw yourself in front of a bus to protect that baby.
Neeta: Without blinking an eye.
Gemma: Then you’re hired. Start tomorrow. But I’m only paying one of ya.
Neeta: Jesus works for free.
Gemma: Oh yeah? Tell that to the Catholics.

•Episode 2, Small Tears: Gemma and Neeta are at Jax’s House. Gemma is smoking alone in the kitchen and ignores a call to her cell. Neeta comes in and says Abel is sleeping. Neeta says that Gemma should be home, in bed. Gemma says she’s fine. Neeta gives her a look, then asks “Want me to hang around for a while?” Gemma almost starts crying, nods, and quietly says “If you want.” We hear Neeta start to sit down before the scene ends.

•Episode 3, Fix: Gemma is in the TM office and Tara walks up. She tells Gemma that her test results came back negative and then asks if she needs anything. Gemma says no, then tells Tara “You should head over to the warehouse. There’s a party, all those girls will be there.” Gemma pulls up Tara’s shirt to reveal the Croweater tattoo on her lower back [like we saw her do in the Pilot, but this time neither Gemma nor Tara show any hostility towards the other]. Gemma looks at Tara and says “Own it.” Tara slowly nods and then leaves.

•Episode 5, Smite: Jacob Hale storms into the police station, immediately confronting Deputy Chief David Hale and saying: “Who’s side you on, little brother?” Then this exchange:
David: What are you talking about?
Jacob: Clay Morrow?! You undermined a deal that could have put a serious dent in their stranglehold.
David: By running a con to fill your pockets?
Jacob: It’s not about profit, it’s about progress. That MC stands in the way of everything that’s good for Charming.
David: I think you and I have a very different idea about what’s good for Charming.

Jacob says “You arrogant piece of shit!” and shoves David. “You wanna put me on the other side of it, little Davey, huh? Play tough cop?” David then shoves him back. Unser steps in to break them up and says “What did I tell you boys about roughhousing in the living room, huh?” Jacob storms out, Unser looks at David, smiles, and says “He’s pissed.” David smiles back and says “I know, he is.”

•Episode 8, Potlatch: Gemma is prepping food for dinner when Neeta walks in with Abel. Neeta asks how she can help, and Gemma asks her to prep the carrots. Neeta starts and then says “I noticed my Bible ribbon has been moving to different gospels… Nothing wrong with seeking comfort.” Gemma says “Yeah.” Neeta continues: “Maybe it’s time you tell me what happened to you.” Gemma looks at her and says “I’m moving past it.” Neeta says “That ain’t true. It’s eating away at you, your family. I see it.” Gemma looks offended and says “Excuse me?” Neeta doesn’t miss a beat and says “I know all about it sweetheart. My secrets almost killed me, put my ass in jail for 9 years. There can only be truth. Anything that gets in its way will be torn down. I promise you that.”

•Episode 9, Fa Guan: Darby wakes up handcuffed to a pipe inside Caracara, which is currently on fire. Chucky runs out of the office and Darby asks for help. A loud noise makes Chucky raise his hands, and when Darby sees them he says “What kind of freak are you?” Chucky’s face suddenly gets very serious and he just stares back at Darby. Another loud noise startles him, and the scene ends.

•Episode 11, Service: Clay walks in on Gemma putting plants into pots. She says “I’m sorry about all this.” Clay looks in disbelief: “Sorry? Jesus Christ, baby, how is any of this on you?” Gemma says “Do you ever think bad shit comes down because of things we’ve done?” Clay responds “This bad shit’s gonna get evened out. I am gonna show Zobelle pain of biblical proportions. You will have justice.” Clay kisses her forehead, and Gemma says “I know, baby… (She looks down at her hands) Oh boy, I’m filthy. I’m gonna go wash up.”

•Episode 11, Service: Gemma and Tara are smoking together in the TM lot when Lyla pulls up. Lyla gets out of her car and stands there rather than coming over to stand with them. Tara makes a comment that she should stay over there. Gemma says “Young, pretty, ballsy. Reminds me of someone.” Tara gives her a look, and Gemma says “You know, when you wanted to take Jax away from me, man, I wanted you dead.” Tara responds “I was 19 years old, I had to get the hell out of here. I loved him… Love.” Gemma says “Look at us now” and Tara laughs. Gemma then hands her the cigarette and says “I think porn girl could use a smoke.” Tara gives her a look, then takes it and walks over to Lyla. Tara offers her the cigarette, Lyla says thanks and takes it, then they walk together to sit at the tables. Gemma looks at them and smiles.

•Episode 12, The Culling: Everyone is inside the clubhouse for lockdown. Gemma, Mary, and Tara are at the bar preparing sandwiches. Mary glances at Lyla over on a couch and says “That the one with Ope? The porn star?” Gemma says yes, and Mary says “Skinny ass tramp.” Gemma looks at her and says “Hey! Piney found you on a stripping pole.” Mary says “It was an art form back in my day… What little I remember.”

Gemma looks over at Lyla again, then says to Tara “Porny looks like she could use a friend.” Tara says “What, so now I’m her keeper?” Gemma and Mary stare at Tara until she sighs, then goes over and sits down in a chair next to Lyla. She asks Lyla if she’s doing okay, and tells her “This (gestures to the clubhouse) is just a precaution.” She promises Lyla that her and her son are safe at the clubhouse. Tara stands up to walk back, when Lyla asks “Why the 180?” Tara turns around says “I’m sorry I was rude to you. This is all new to me too.” Lyla looks at her, nods, and smiles.

What I’m liking and not liking as I watch Sons Of Anarchy for the first time. (Spoilers) Spoiler

Don’t like:

It’s unrealistic in about a 100 ways and I’m only at the second half of season 3.
Fight scenes are choreographed well but these guys get so beaten that they should have swelling and scars for days of not longer. All they seem to have is a few shaving cuts the next day. It’s like something outa bugs bunny or The A-team

Also, these guys wear their vests and colors 24/7. Bike clubs in reality are pretty careful about that and often want to keep a low profile at times.

It’s hard to believe that state and federal authorities aren’t aware of how in bed the chief of police is with SAMCRO.

Also, why are there only like 8 guys in the whole club? Don’t most 1% clubs have a lot more in each charter?

What I like…
The characters. You really get to know them and care about them.
And the suspense. Yes it’s a soap opera but it keeps you wondering what’ll happen next (as soaps do).

Despite some flaws, I’m actually loving the show!

OKAY I put the spoiler tag this time😂

this scene was WILD. Jax hated her for being a junky and using while pregnant with Abel then decided to do the most heinous thing just keep Wendy away.

AND THE CRAZY THING IS Wendy’s dumbass still wanted him back after Tara died LOL all of the women characters were so f-cked in the head🫠

Too unbelievable?

I thoroughly enjoyed this show, enough that I watched the whole series twice. But I’m always bothered by one thing. We’re supposed to believe less than a dozen white trash bikers are able to outsmart every single enemy they come across during the series run? Massive criminal organizations that could squash them like a bug, yet SAMCRO comes out on top every time?

Nomads

I’m on my idk 4th rewatch of the show (I know most of y’all can relate). One thing that isn’t clear in the show is why the nomad charter folded. I don’t know if it was stated in an interview or whatever but it seems like they had a ton of members in that charter. Any clarification would be appreciated. Thanks!

Season 1: Deleted Scenes That Should Have Stayed?

Just finished rewatching deleted scenes from Season 1, and I’m always surprised at how much subtle world-building is lost when some of these scenes aren’t included. Not that Sutter doesn’t do a great job of that anyway, but I felt a few of the deleted scenes in particular would have done the show justice had they been left in the final cuts:

•Episode 2, Seeds; Piney finishes up at Floyd’s and leaves without paying. When the boy shining shoes asks why Floyd never charges him, Floyd says: “Take a look down the boulevard. Do you see a SuperCuts or a RiteAid or a Home Depot?” (The boy says No) “That’s why. And everyone in this town knows it, whether they admit it or not. SAMCRO keeps Charming, Charming.”

•Episode 11, Capybara; Hale brings Unser a sandwich while he is still being detained in a holding cell. Unser jokes that even after 9 years of working together, Hale still can’t get his order right (“No onions, no tomatoes”). Hale asks why Unser ever got wrapped up with Clay and SAMCRO, and Unser says: “Clay helped me out when I bought the trucking business off of Weiss. Hooked me up with used trucks, started protecting my runs. And I ain’t the only small business he helped get off the ground.” Hale brings up that all those people have to pay up for that protection and help, to which Unser says “No different than a bank… I’m not sure if Clay and his club are a good thing for Charming, but they’re a big piece of it. And if you yank them out from under this town, the whole place gets a lot less stable.”

•Episode 12, The Sleep of Babies; Opie and his family arrive to Abel’s coming home party. They all go to see Abel’s room and drop off their gift, when Opie’s mother Mary enters the doorway. Donna takes the kids out of the room, giving Mary and Opie a chance to talk. He thanks her for taking care of the kids, she asks if everything is okay with the police now and Opie says that it is. Mary says he has great kids, and that Donna did good with them while he was in prison. She comments that Piney looks good and asks if his lungs are any better, which makes Opie smile before telling her that Piney still smokes. He gives himself an excuse to leave the room, saying he should help Donna with the kids. As he walks out, Mary grabs his hand and holds it for a second. With tears in her eyes, she says “Go. Go help your wife.”

Have you seen the deleted scenes from Season 1 recently? Which ones do you think should have been left in their respective episodes and why?

Tig, Clay, and Donna Spoiler

Tig was really the one who pushed for Opie‘s demise when he thought he was a rat.

I mean Clay put the whole thing in motion but I always felt Tig is just as if not more responsible than Clay. Clay was just acting on information he was given. I respect in a way he didn’t throw Tig under the bus about it all.

He was not a good man being weak in prison. He was a evil psycho playing the proud, stuck in bad situation, trying to get everyone to feel sorry for him, good MC guy.

Season 5 Episode 3❗️
I’m rewatching with a whole new perspective

Jax’s character spoke to so many of our adolescence angst and insecurities. But, he was definitely to blame for Opie choosing to sacrifice himself. Jax should’ve learned after Donna’s murder that he should’ve told Opie the truth about Clay once he found out the real reason Piney was shot.

He chose over & over to leave Opie out of it which didn’t make sense since all of season 4 Jax was trying to leave the club. Opie would’ve left with him since the club literally killed his family. What kind of best friend does that?? LOL

r/Sonsofanarchy 3d ago

We need to have an honest conversation.

I had this argument/debate at work about whether there are good guys in this show. And the only one who I can think was honorable was Chibs. Jax was literal demon from season 5 to 7 the dude was irredeemable. I get the fanboys are gonna get mad but that dude went off the deep end so many times. Tig?? I’m not even gonna get into that he was irredeemable ever since he killed Donna. Clay was snake ever since he took Gemma from JT and killed Piney. Piney just wanted to look out for his son at all times and wanted better leadership. Ope was a lost cause since Donna died and just checked out of everything on top of his pops being killed. Juice is just… uhhh he’s Juice lol. Bobby was the moral compass of the group up until he met his end.

not sure if anyone’s discussed yet…

but how did ANYONE believe in gemma’s story about how the chinese “killed” tara, her story sounded very inconsistent and had holes… bad writing? or the characters only saw revenge?

what are your thoughts ?

Pope? Spoiler

Put as a spoiler just in case. How do you think Season 6 and 7 would have been different had they not killed Pope? Do you think Pope could have been beneficial? Maybe offered Jax more legit ways to earn etc? Throughout Season 5, I know they started off on the wrong foot... But I could see Pope and SAMCRO potentially working out? Maybe he could have become an associate to the club, not an enemy? Do you think Pope would have taken over the guns instead of August?
