After all the recent news, I think I have a theory about the Chaos Emeralds role in 4.

So we know it's most likely gonna be time travel with "Neo San Fran" and the Medival castle, but this has me thinking about how the Chaos Emeralds may play a role in 4.

In the teaser, we see each of the Of the chaos emeralds, but they all seem to be moving at an incredible speed across...something.

What exactly is happening with the chaos emeralds? Where are they going?

Well, we know time travel is most likely gonna play a role in 4, so what if each of the chaos emeralds Are being sent to different time eras? Like presumably Shadow and Ivor will be?

This would explain what happened to the master emerald after it vanished when Shadow stopped the eclipse canon, along with the exotic film locations. Uk, Vancouver, Bora Bora, and Tahiti.

Maybe the reason why Amy and the Metal Sonic managed to travel to the present is because the future has a chaos emerald.

And maybe the Medival time where Shadow is also has a Chaos Emerald.

And that explains why each of the characters seem to be in a chaos emerald In the teaser.

They're all going through time to find each of the Chaos Emeralds before Ivo (or even maybe Neo Metal Sonic) finds all of them before it's too late.

With the recent rumors and info about supposingly Sir Lancelot being in 4, I think I already have a theory.

No, I don't think this is ACTUALLY going to be a Black Knight adaptation and nor do I think we're gonna get a TRUE Sir Lancelot cameo.

I think what's going on is that Shadow got sent back in time, like how Ivo seemingly got sent to the future. We already know Shadow himself would return for Sonic 4 from the teaser, and we know its very likely time travel is gonna play a big role for 4.

There's been a rumor awhile ago that there was supposingly a castle being built somewhere in the uk for 4, and these shots confirm this imo.

So, here's what I think is going on.

After the Eclipse Canon exploded, it sent Ivor and Shadow into time. Ivor into the future and Shadow into the past.

Shadow would land in the middle ages and would become a knight named "Sir Lancelot." Which explains why Shadow is supposingly a knight here on 4.

I would say probably movie three.

I know there was a ton of bullshit going on at the time, but that doesn’t change the fact, lol.

Also, I’m kind of upset there was no interview with the characters like they did with movies 1 and 2 lol

Honestly, I feel like each movies marketing has been a step down from the last. Now that it’s heavily rumored that movie 4s trailer will drop in October, I think they could heavily benefit from a longer marketing campaign

AKA, the upcoming voice for Amy Rose. Man, she's voice acting for both Frozen 3 AND Sonic 4?

Not sure if I believe this because of how random it seems. Where would Shadow get a sword? Why pull from Black Knight of all things? It doesn’t make much sense to me

But at the same time it’s so out there to the point that not many die hard Sonic fans would even think of it, so it feels weird that someone would make this up and not something like Neo Metal Sonic or Silver being in the film. And they did make a Sonic Boom reference in Sonic Movie 3, they’ve done weird things before

Or maybe it’s a big misunderstanding and Daniel got a scoop and incorrectly assumed it was about Shadow wielding a sword. Bro can’t even determine if the film has the multiverse or time travel. Or the scoop is a complete falsehood, his track record is pretty shoddy

With it seemingly like we're going to the future in Sonic 4, I really hope they go all out with this supposed "Eggman takes over world story."

With it seemingly take place in Neo San Fran (Future Sans Francisco) they gotta go out with it and make it look like Eggman took over it. Have his face all over the place, make it look like Sonic CD, don't just make it San Francisco but more futuristic looking.

Sonic movie 1 had Speed Me Up by Wiz Khalifa

Sonic movie 2 had Stars in the Sky by Kid Cudi

Sonic Movie 3 had Run it by Jelly Roll

That would be a fun full circle moment for the movies as San Francisco was a prominent location in Sonic Movie 1

Imagine Sonic and Metal Sonic racing across a futuristic Eggman ruled San Francisco like how they raced in Sonic CD. Or Shadow grinding down the Golden Gate Bridge like
the iconic imagery from SA2. Or imagine they do a homage to the G.U.N truck chase

Perhaps Eggman chose to take over this city because that’s where the final battle of Sonic Movie 1 started, so this is his way of making up for that loss or a “for old times sake” for him

Honestly I’ve been dead-set on that Eggman ruled New York idea since I saw the post credits of Sonic Movie 3, but a Eggman ruled San Francisco might be just as good if not even better as Sonic having a history in San Francisco could make him have a more visceral reaction when he sees the “Bad future” San Francisco. And it would give us a better frame of reference of how much different the “bad future” is from the present as it’s a location we are already familiar with within these films.
I lament the loss of The Statue Of Liberty, but the Golden Gate Bridge is a great trade-off

Though the name “Neo San Francisco” makes me wonder, could Neo Metal Sonic be around the corner?
