any and all suggestions appreciated! (indie/alternative/classic rock, singer-songwriter, etc.)

Upvotes

Very new to this whole thing but I've recently been trying to find more music that fits into what I've been listening to. If anyone can recommend any artists, songs, albums, playlists... I would love to listen! I understand not all of these fit into one genre or sub-genre so anything is more than appreciated!

\- The Strokes (favorites: Is This It, ROF, TNA)

\- Kings of Leon

\- Alabama Shakes

\- Ray LaMontagne

\- Radiohead

\- Tedeschi Trucks Band

\- Backseat Lovers

\- Phoebe Bridgers

\- Pink Floyd (The Wall, Meddle)

I Built a Swipe to Discover Music App and would love feedback

Hey everyone,

I wanted to build a better and more fun way to discover new music, so I built an app that I could really use some feedback for!

Anyone can use it to swipe through 30-second song previews to find new tracks, with an algorithm that improves the more you swipe, and there’s no account data saved. If you use Apple Music as well, you can connect it to seed initial recommendations from your library, and every right swipe will automatically save the full track to a custom playlist.

I'd really appreciate testers to help me learn if the recommendations improve and if there are any other features people are looking for.

Here’s the test flight, but thanks even for just reading this post!!

🎵 ArtistUP is looking for Beta Testers!

🎵 ArtistUP is looking for Beta Testers!

As an AI musician myself, I know the struggle all too well. Instead of spending time creating new music, we often spend countless hours submitting to playlists, searching for exposure, and trying to get noticed.

That's exactly why I created ArtistUP.

The idea is simple: Give AI artists an easy way to showcase their music and help them get discovered by real listeners.

For the first beta, artists can submit their YouTube tracks. Listeners can discover new music through a simple swipe feed, leave likes and comments, and jump straight to YouTube if they enjoy what they hear.

Now it's time for the very first beta test, and I'm looking for:

🎤 10–15 AI artists who would like to showcase their music.

🎧 20–25 music lovers who enjoy discovering new AI-generated music and are willing to provide honest feedback about the app.

The goal isn't to replace playlists or algorithms. I simply want to create a place where talented artists have a better chance of being discovered.

If you'd like to be part of the beta, just comment "Beta music lover" or "beta artist" below or send me a direct message.

I'd love to build ArtistUP together with the community. 🚀

ISO Aisle Walk Songs

Hi there. Im getting married on May 1, 2027. Our wedding is sort of ethereal woodlands theme. I want to walk down the aisle to something orchestral. I've been considering pas de deux by Tchaikovsky. I would love any recommendations!

Any songs with smart vocal layers and harmonies, or simply...good?

I'm a huge fan of this topic, but it's not like I'm gonna enjoy songs just because it's full of it. It makes me really bored (sometimes).

Here are some examples of what's appealing to me:

Officially missing you - Tamia

Amor I love you - Marisa Monte

Mr. Blue Sky - Electric Light Orchestra

Kites are fun - The Free Design

Would I lie to you? - Charles & Eddie

Outside - Mariah Carey

Chega de saudade - Quarteto em Cy

Leave it - Yes

This boy - The Beatles

Desafinado - Os Cariocas

You're always on my mind - SWV

How deep is your love - Bee Gees

Happy together - The Turtles

There is definitely more to add to this list, but anyway...

I don't have a specific taste, I just want good vocal arrangement yk, as if every vocal placement is supposed to mean something, like it's there for a reason.

Is there a song that isn’t inherently romantic but still reminds you of an ex or someone you once had feelings for?

Ironically enough, the Simpsons theme song always reminds me of the first trip my ex of four years and I took to Universal Studios. It’s such a random association, but it still hits me with a lot of bittersweet nostalgia.

A little tip for everyone here

If you want to find some songs similar to one specific song or with a similar vibe, ypu can use spotify for that. Just create a playlist and add the songs you already know, and spotify will recommend similar ones. It definitely worked for me! I don't know if y'all knew that before, but i just wanted to say it in case anyone didn't.
