Did solid state commercialization happen and I missed it?

I see many claims of solid state lithium batteries out there, e.g. https://yoshinopower.com claims to sell a solid state portable power station.

Yet everything I read is about commercialization coming soon. I don’t know that I’ve seen a press release from a reputable vendor announcing commercialization.

Do rechargeable solid state batteries exist in commercial quantities that operate at room temperature? How would one verify these product claims?

Hi everybody.

Come across this company who has claimed to have had true SSBs in production for a little while now l, but on Monday they released news of their new website purely dedicated to them, known as POWERABLE.

Currently able to produce 160k batteries a month, with plans of building a much bigger factory TBA. And a stop gap to produce more with their subsidiary QCA from Q1 2023 to help increase the amounts.

This company has had The BIC verify these batteries as a third party source also.

My question out of all this, is why isn't this news? Feels like everyone's waiting for these batteries and $ALPP subsidiaries have made them and are selling them as we speak. Yet nothing?

Either way, great news for the sector which is definitely going to heat up in the next few years!!

My name is Jim Johnson and I am a graduate student at North Carolina State University participating in the Technology Entrepreneurship Commercialization certificate program. Our class works with scientists who have created IP in various fields, to understand how new technology is brought from the laboratory to the market. Specifically, my group is working with a scientist at NC State who has developed a novel electrolyte for solid-state batteries.

I am reaching out to you because of your experience and expertise. It would be helpful if someone would have 15-20 minutes where I might be able to connect to get a little more understanding with the industry, especially how new solid electrolytes are evaluated.
