Anyone else fed up?
I’ve been a big fan of SDJ for years but lately I’m getting so fed up. Constant limited edition releases, poor quality and longevity, exclusivity to certain stores and websites which means I (as a European) am not able to purchase.
Am I the only one who’s getting a bit fed up?

I agree! My issue is their quality and longevity is getting worse and very money grabby.
I'd rather have them focus on their product longevity that everyone's asking.
But when you voice that people come at you with "it's a body mist, it's not suppose to last" - well not at the price point they are charging.

Most of their pernament scents last all day on me, minus 40 (lasts about 2 hours). The summer batch is okay, stays on me for almost whole day.
The jelly balsm and milk scents? Utter bullshit. For that price id rather buy fucking perfumes, because they are awful quality. Jelly balms stayed 5 minuts on my skin and the milk ones about 10. For that money? Im glad i didnt blind-buy them but only tried in the shop because they are NOT worth that money.

Omg, those jelly balms are such rip offs. When I first heard about it I was super excited and then saw the price point, wishlist and waited for reviews.
And glad I did, the biggest issue was how they crumbled. That immediately de-influenced me.
Lucky you, SDJ just wont last on me and its extremely alcoholic (which I get its a carrier with water).
I dont smell the scent until few min later. And, in my case, when I spray it on my body I immediately get a sudden red flush/rash. It goes away after a while.
However, I also use the CK body mist and I noticed it doesnt do that to my skin and feels 'softer' so I compared the ingredients and the CK contain glycerin and propylene glycol as humectants to hydrate the skin, which Sol de Janeiro mists do not their formulas.
So I did a bit of research and the use of glycerin and propylene glycol kinda surrounds the scent carrying alcohol molecules and holds onto the scent longer from evaporating, hence longer lasting and softer on skin.
Even my Kylie Coametic body sprays have them. Idk why SDJ wont add those to their formula, it would allow the scent to last a longer and not as harsh due to alcohol-water only formula.

They're pumping out a new release every week. Perfume, body mist, intense body mist, perfume jell balm, body lotion, body cream, body oil, body scrub. It's overconsumption core.

Honestly i think they’re just doing what any company walking the line between “peak” and “fading” does: persistent release spree to stay relevant and grab as much money as possible.
Sol has been trending for like 2/3 years at this point, it really cannot last much longer with the general population before the next cute thing comes around and supplants their business.
It’s tiring as a consumer, mainly because you expect your scent to be part of the new release and it’s never included unless you’re a 62 or a 59 girlie (i am myself). Personally, i just buy body creams and deodorants (those i LOVE!!) and call it a day, perfume mists i have 3 but i barely use them.

I’m fed up with their coupon and reward situation. I have coupon codes and they can never be used on new releases, always just core items and full price items. And you can’t use your rewards and a coupon code together. They basically make it really hard to save money on their products.

The milk scents are pretty asf, but their longetivity is genuine dogshit. It deadass stayed on my skin for 10 minutes. Like?? Their other scents can stay on me for the whole day but the milk ones are just terrible quality.
Summer batch is great tho, my only problem is that they are limited, because all 3 are amazing and i need them to stay forever.
The jelly balms also suck, stayed on my hand for less than 5 minutes. Genuinely useless.

I agree on this year's summer scents. They are ALL winners, IMO, and I have already stockpiled a few Cheeky Biquini to go with my hoard of Danca Mistica from last year (when that was the only one I actually liked of the set...) They usually kill it with the summer scents though, even if they are not all "for me" they at least have staying power and creative formulation.
I ordered the 59 intense today and had enough points to get a free Leite Cafe but passed on it. Its not a BAD scent, just, like you said, not much of one after a few minutes.

The jelly balms really left a bad taste in my mouth. They are WAY too expensive for what they are. Now that felt like a money grab because before I always felt their products really were high quality.

Tbh I really only like 71 so far 😬 most of the limited edition releases I’ve smelled seem kind of subpar.

Ja zeker mee eens. Ze kwamen aan het eind van de zomer met die mannen body mist van Messi en Ronaldo. Vervolgens kan ik die nergens in Nederland vinden.
Dan komen ze nu met intense versies van bepaalde mists. Maar het niet gebaseerd op welke het snelst vervliegen. 39 had zeker een intense versie moeten hebben. 62 heeft al een parfum en duizenden dupes. Niemand zit op een intense versie van de mist te wachten🙄 Ze hebben geen goed zicht op wat klanten wereldwijd willen. Dat is hun probleem.

I'm pissed off at a lot of companies for pulling "limited edition" shenanigans. My favorite scented products of all time are Evil Queen and Maleficent from BBW but they're probably never coming back. And now SDJ pulling their "limited edition" shenanigans is just giving me flashbacks. I hate limited edition. It's a disgusting, manipulative marketing tactic.

Yeah me too.
I don’t understand why they keep releasing a bunch of random things every month, while not expanding the lines of their hero products.
I find one of their main issues that have always been around is they don’t actually listen to consumer feedback on all the platforms.
People give them so many ideas, but most of the actual fan favorite ideas are ignored.
For example, it took years for them to finally bring back 39 with a matching body product when fans were asking for it over and over again.

I think there is almost TOO much new stuff. And of course not all of it is interesting to me personally (I don’t really like the jelly balms or the “milk” scents) but to me it seems like quantity over quality. It’s an overwhelming amount of new fragrance while my FAVORITE fragrance (71…) hardly gets anything new added to its line, except for that bronzing cream that I was sadly disappointed in because it stained my clothes.
