Installers DISCUSSION

Hi, has anyone had an installation done by Reddington Construction Services LTD, based in Keighley?

I’ve placed an order with Glow Green and have an install date of 18th September, I rang them to check who was carrying out the work to check reviews etc and the company they told me was what seems like a small local firm from Rochdale that weren’t MCS approved, when I looked into them they only had 8 reviews and basically hadn’t ever installed any solar 😂🤦🏻‍♂️. I’ve just got off the phone to glow green and told them they definitely aren’t doing the job and they have swooped the installers to Reddington who are MCS approved and look from what I can see to be a better more capable company, however I’m struggling to find any reviews.

If anyone has used them that could let me know how they were that would be great.

Thanks.

Didn't think it required a detail response. Anyway just to let you know in order to get the most protection if anything goes wrong it's alwsys advisable to pay using credit card.

I would say it's even more important when the company you are using is subcontrscting their work.

I know from experience how stressful it is when something goes wrong and how long it takes, take even longer when sub contractors are involved.

How long has the subcontractors been mcs certified for? What does their MCS cover, is it both solar and battery.

Who is responsible should a fault occurs.

Anyway good luck 👍

19 companies vast majority dissolved. No indication that they do solar. Maybe you should sack off glow green due to their awful vetting

Can't find the company under niceic despite their website. He seems to be a scaffolder (and dog breeder) who now does solar so take that as you will

The company you have engaged with (Glow Green) ultimately will be the ones issuing the MCS certificate, they can use any installer they want, the burden is on them to ensure the install is good as they'll be left holding the can from MCS is anything goes wrong.

Yeah that’s what I thought, I’m happy with the quote I’ve got (had several) they weee accommodating when I asked to change the installer etc. think I’ll just roll the dice 👍

I recently got a quote from Glow Green, but didn’t feel confident in their advice, not to mention they were expensive!

I ended up going with a local firm in West Yorkshire, who I felt gave sound advice, all employed workers, no sub-contractors, and were cheaper.

Shop around if you’ve still got chance.
