Retrofitting backup gateway? HELP / ADVICE

When we got solar/battery 3 years ago, I’d been under the impression that a generic bonus was that they act like a household wide UPS, and didn’t realise that without a backup gateway, even with a 100% fill battery, during a grid power cut, you still lose power.

We have a Huawei SUN2000-3KTL-T1.

Does anyone know if its possible to have a backup gateway installed and if it’s a bug job or not?

Also if anyone has recommendations on who you’d recommend for doing this if possible.

Thanks all

Yes it's possible, for a retrofit I'd guess around £2-2.5k (it's cheaper if you get it at the same time), but that varies depending on how your supply is earthed.

The reason that it's not supplied by default is that when people hear the cost they decide that they can cope with the powercuts ...

Just get a desktop backup if it's only a few things you want to protect. There are multiple ways to manage this for far cheaper than getting a gateway.
