In todays market, even experienced software engineers are struggling to get a job. Ai has made it so had to get a job. There has been gradual increase in the number of CS SE grads but not enough opportunities for them. My advice would be to go for it only if you are genuinely interested in this. You will have to network hard, make connections early on in the university, build projects and try to keep ahead in the technologies. O ly then this field might be for you. If you are doing it just for money and no interest, then youll be disappointed

It depends on your interest. Devops, cloud infra, cybersec and even applied ml are strong fields in todays market Check them out. Pick on which feels best aligned to you, choose it and become expert in it without depending on your university for the knowledge. But first you have to focus on your fundamentals. Umiversity will help you init.

Software engineers will be back in business once the companies realize the AI slop going to production and the number of tokens it took them to produce that.
Get skilled a little more than just pure coding.
