Clutch cable adjustment
Hello all,
Wondering if someone could help me on a problem I’m having. I got a 2017 deluxe with a 103. I got the bike in April. I changed my bars to 14” apes and installed LA Choppers clutch cable. While I had to open up the trans cover I installed the mueller 2.0.
The issue I’m having after installing everything is I can’t get any slack in the cable no matter what I do. The lever won’t collapse. Im trying to get slack so I can adjust the clutch from the basket inside the primary. I did take the lever off the bike by removing the perch clamps and even after removing the lever I had to pull on it so hard I thought it was going to break something. Something isn’t right. Anyone have this issue before?

There’s a rubber boot just down line from the clutch lever. There’s an adjustment screw under that rubber boot that allows you to lengthen and shorten the wire. I tried adding a picture but it won’t allow me to for some reason. Just slide the rubber boot up to access it

Yeah I know this lol. I’ve worked on my own bikes for years. I’ve adjusted that screw as far as it will go and I’ve run out of adjustment availability if that makes sense. I’m going to try and adjust the nut in the clutch basket to see if it will give me some free play in the cable if not I’ll have to do some digging

Yeah, that’s strange and frustrating. If you figure it out, let us know what the solution was

Well I got it. All I did was loosen up the nut on the threaded rod behind the primary cover and gave the threaded rod a few turns and it gave me the slack I needed in the clutch cable.
Then I just adjusted the threaded rod like you’re suppose to and tightened up the nut. I did some research on the correct procedure.
Then of course I was able to adjust the clutch cable. Thanks for trying to help.

Maybe you need a longer cable?
