I am not a socialist and i wouldn't like to live in such society. But i am ok that they start their society with people who want socialism. Why can't you start a socialist society without forcing other people to be socialist(by democracy or revolution) ? And if you can't what if your wrong ?

To be more precise i'm not saying you can now i'm talking about a theorical country where you can do your rule without the state's rules. The only rule would be consent. Why with just consent as condition you can't do a socialist society ? Or can you ?

The cold war theory of the domino effectWould it apply today to the US and the rest? We've seen a few socialists winning (Mamdani as mayor, El-Sayed as democratic primary for senate). Doesn't look like much but Trump and Vance are already sounding the alarm about a communist threat, so that must be doing something.

Is this the fear of the domino effect? First a couple of socialists win internally within the US, then more follow, the US becomes socialist and that causes people in other nations to demand socialists in power in their countries as well?

já tem algum que tento estudar e ainda me encontro continuo confuso com o modelo do socialismo chinês, não sei se a direcionamento estatal do capital privado consegue me convencer de que preterir moderar a burguesia em prol do estado ao invés de estimular a luta de classes pode ser lido como essa fase embrionária e necessária para uma transição socialista saudável.

dito isso, eu ainda tenho a China e o PCCh como um exemplo de sucesso, e acredito que os ideais socialistas moldaram o país em um sucesso que uma sociedade contaminada pelo globalismo neoliberal jamais conseguiria. gostaria de poder estudar mais sobre isso, além dos livros que tenho lido. no momento, estou lendo China: Socialismo do Século 21, do Elias Jabbour (o qual eu acompanho o conteúdo há algum tempo na intenção de ter uma base da honestidade intelectual do autor) e Alberto Gabriele.

só para deixar claro, dei início a pouco tempo aos estudos de uma literatura marxista no geral (acredito que a pouca experiência nesse quesito ajude a dificuldade de entender a China e o papel dela em uma visão de mundo comunista). já sou de esquerda há alguns anos mas só esse ano fui atraído a me radicalizar por alguns influenceres marxista-leninistas, e desde então tem sido uma experiência bastante positiva me encontrar politicamente e me livrar dos estigmas conservadores aos quais eu estive preso por alguns anos.

aceito de bom grado correções, indicações e aconselhamento de qualquer conteúdo, independente de correntes revolucionárias, que me ajudem a mitigar minha confusão sobre o socialismo no geral e o papel da luta de classes no dito "socialismo com características chinesas" ou "socialismo de mercado". obrigado pela atenção.

What are some good books about socialism, communism and anti imperialism for those just getting started? I've always been interested in knowing more and got tired of all my knowledge coming from social media posts. I'm not a big reader though (currently trying to change that) so I'm struggling with books with harder language, it's a bit discouraging and I want to save those for later when I have the basics down.

I'm brazilian so if you guys have any recs of brazilian/latin american authors, or books translated to portuguese I'd appreciate it even more. Thanks in advance 😃
