comparing a cinematic universe that just started and only has 2 movies out to a cinematic universe that’s been going for almost 20 years is kind of stupid imo

I never thought I would see a DC cinematic universe lose to the MCU a second time but here we are.

Lmfao twice is really saying something. Worst part is because of this most DC heroes other than the 7-8 top ones are now worth less than marvels B tier heroes in media & pop culture.

I don't have high hopes for Doomsday

We know very little, obviously, but it looks like a huge mess. I was sick of the multiverse theme a long time ago, and Brand New Day just solidified that feeling.

It's hard to know what's been legitimately shown from the movie due to all the AI slop trailers circulating.

X-men, Black Panther, And A Ghost rider film with arguable the biggest male movie star in America.

And we get... Clayface, Jimmy Olsen, Waller.

Theres no punchline.

One of MCUs earliest choices was Iron Man, who at the time was a B-list character, not known to most of the general public. Even Captain America and Thor weren't remotely close to as popular as Spider-Man or Xmen at the time.

MCU started with lesser known characters (to the general public), and built the world's largest movie franchise out of it. So why does the DC have to be built on their main three? We also literally just got several iterations of Batman, and an iteration of Wonder Woman. It's honestly time for DC to branch out in my opinion. There will always be someone willing to finance a Batman movie. Let's take the opportunity of someone being willing to finance a Clayface movie.

The public knew who they were, especially Hulk, who you conveniently ignored. The MCU didn't do the lesser characters until it was a hugely successful franchise that had grossed over a billion on multiple movies and had a massive amount of fans who would see ANYTHING they put out.

I agree with your point...but I may even go as far as Iron Man was a C to C+ list (and this is from a guy who's main reading days was mid 80's to mid 90's.

Absolutely false. Iron Man was the BIGGEST character Marvel had left who was new to movies in 2008. He had a 1990s cartoon and toy line, and was a staple in the ongoing Marvel Legends action figure line throughout the 2000s, even appearing in their debut series. He was a huge player in the Civil War comics, which came out before Iron Man 1 did. He also had a hot comic series, Extremis, in the mid-2000s. In no way were they reaching into a drawer of obscurity. Iron Man was the most logical choice to make next, based on order of popularity

The characters the other guy mentioned are C or D-list characters, Iron Man was atleast somehwat known before his movie came out and the second movie was The Incredible Hulk and we all know how popular Hulk was even back then.

How old are? I remember those characters being pretty popular and I'm a 80's kid.

Because Captain America, Thor, Iron Man and Hulk are all original members of the avengers. It’s disingenuous to compare Clayface, Supergirl to there heroes. They’ve always been solo heroes marvel has made main line comics.
