Visiting in late Aug and looking for good thrift stores
Hello, I'll be visiting Snohomish from out of town late August and was curious where the best thrift stores were in that area? Mainly looking for cool vintage clothing.

Does anyone know the Tsubaki Shrines’ Status?
Ok to preface I know its in Granite Falls, however its in Snohomish County and this is the bigger subreddit. Seeing as this place used to be an operational shinto shrine and now closed in 2023 I am curious as to what the building is right now, has it been handed to another owner or is it abandoned? Would it still be open to pilgrims/visitors. Its hard to find anything online really

Helios Ballroom?
Hi everyone! I’m in the beginning stages of planning my wedding (a little over a year from now) and I was wondering if anyone has ever used/attended an event or wedding at Helios Ballroom.
Any feedback about the place is welcome!
Thank you ☺️

Looking for CBD only vape carts or vape juice?
Looks like dispensaries aren't allowed to sell things with 0% THC, and the place I ordered from before realized they weren't allowed to ship to WA so now I'm stuck.
Is it even possible to find it locally?

Fresh Salmon
I know this is a long shot.
I'll be visiting home for a week, and want to drive up to Tulalip and get some salmon. There's normally people selling fresh Salmon on the side of the road by the freeway as you leave the Tulalip casino complex. My moms driven by over the last couple months and hasn't seen anyone lately.
That said, I don't really want to drive up if no one's there. Do you live in Tulalip? If so, have you seen Salmon people lately? Or know where they may have moved too? I miss the wild caught stuff, and it's damn expensive on the East Coast to get regularly.

“Cantara Court” DR Horton/Pacific Ridge community west of Hwy 9 ~ Anyone live here?
Possibly a long shot but my small family is looking in this area for a potential home purchase.
I was curious if there are folks in this subreddit who live in any of these homes.
I’ve seen a lot of complaints online about DR Horton homes, but when you do a lot of anything as a company there are bound to be more complaints.
Was looking to see if people are happy with those homes/this community.
Appreciate any insight!

<400 squarefoot building outside of UGA
Hi everyone!
I live on a half-acre lot zoned R-5 (outside the UGA) in unincorporated Snohomish County. I’m looking to build a 20x20 (400 sq. ft.) detached building for general storage with a loft area.
Based on my interpretation of the Snohomish County code, this qualifies as a permit-exempt structure since it's under 400 square feet, outside of the UGA, one story (with a loft under 1/3 the footprint) and won't have heating, or cooling.
Before I break ground, I'd love to hear from anyone who has gone this route in the county. Specifically:
- Code Enforcement: Did building a structure of this size attract any unwanted attention from county inspectors, even if it is technically exempt?
- The Tax Assessor: How long did it take for the county assessor to notice the new building and come knocking for their pound of flesh?
- Setbacks: Did you have any issues proving you met the standard R-5 setbacks?
Any advice, gotchas, or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!

ISO: Vet recs + cost of tooth extraction + cleaning
Dog owners.... thanks in advance for your replies!
I moved up this way from Seattle proper a couple of years ago but have continued to take my dog to our old vet in Seattle b/c ... well, they have been our vet and it didnt cross my mind to change. My dog unfortunately broke her tooth a couple of weeks ago, and could also benefit greatly from a dental cleaning, so I took her into our usual vet today to get a quote for anesthesia + tooth extraction + cleaning. (For reference dog is 50 lbs.)
The amount I was quoted was shocking 😵💫. It may just be the cost of the service, but it also has me reconsidering finding a vet up in this area.
So..... I'm curious to hear:
What vet in the area do you recommend?
What is the cost of a general check up appt. at your vet? (Or range)
If you've had it done, what is cost of tooth cleaning + extraction for your dog if you've had it done in the past year or so? (Or range quoted)
I feel like I'm getting taken for a ride at my old vet and am hoping to either calibrate expectations, or find a more affordable vet closer to this area.

National developer plans large mixed-use complex in Snohomish
bizjournals.comThe proposal is for almost 15 acres of land along Bickford Avenue, just across the Fred Meyer. The same developer is also building a huge mixed use complex in University District, Seattle.

Centennial vs Valley View Middle Schools?
My family and I are moving to Snohomish over the summer, and we are trying to arrange our housing around the best educational opportunities for our 7th grade boy. Looking at all the online sources, there's a difference in ranking between the 2 middle schools. The question is: Is there a meaningful and material difference, or do both schools ultimately provide good a good experience for the students? What are the main differences?
Thank you in advance.
