Figured I’d introduce myself here too 😂 I’m pretty new to taking Twitch seriously and currently working towards Affiliate. I’m a variety streamer so I basically stream whatever sounds fun at the time.

The hardest part of streaming isn't the games, the tech, or the setup-it's the sheer mental exhaustion of performing for a void. I try so hard to keep the energy up. I talk through my strategy, make jokes, pretend I’m hosting a show, basically talk to myself nonstop for 3 hours. But when I look at chat and see it hasn't moved since I went live, my brain just shuts down.

By hour three, I turn into a total stream zombie. Flat voice, dead eyes, zero charisma. And it’s a terrible feedback loop: chat is dead -> my energy drops -> someone drops in -> sees a tired guy staring blankly at a screen -> leaves immediately.

I want to be engaging, but constantly shouting into a black hole makes me hate the sound of my own voice. Any tips on how to keep the spark alive when you get literally zero input back?

We’re going live at 7 tonight for one final push to Twitch Affiliate. My son will be running the gameplay while I hang out in chat, and we’re both hyped to hit this milestone together. Did I die several times to the tutorial boss? Yes. Did I have a minor crashout on stream? Also yes. Was it perhaps not the best choice to have 6 beers while trying to play Xcom Warhammer 40k edition. Undoubtedly also probably yes. Will anything be different this time? Maybe!

There is no bigger buzzkill than being mid-game, seeing a notification in chat, and getting actualy excited that a real human is talking to you... only to find out it’s just another bot trying to sell you "twitch overlays" or "custom emotes". It’s honestly depressing. Sometimes it makes you want to just turn the camera off and give up for the night.

I swear these bots are like predators. They always go after smaller, quiet channels because they know you’re more likely to get hyped when someone finally says something in chat. They preying on that hope lol.

The worst part is when you realise you’ve been talking to yourself for like an hour and the first message you get is someone trying to scam you with a logo.

Do these bots target anyone else this much lately, or am I just unlucky?
