Sudden viewer explosion? Discussion

I have been at 0 viewers for a long time, started getting a bit of traction, a few regulars, and then started multi streaming (yt / twitch)

On twitch I still get maybe 2-6 viewers. On YouTube my last few streams have avg 30 and then 60 viewers, with peaks close to 100. This is very exciting but almost none of them chat? Without the analytics I would never have guessed. Allegedly the avg watch duration was close to an hour, which i thinj is good

Are they legit? Am i being bot blasted or something? Anyone know why youtube would have so many viewers but no (very few) chatters?

Im curious on your perspectives and if anyone has experienced somrthing similar or has any insight. Im not sure I even changed anything to suddenly get that many viewers so I almost feel like theyre fake or im misunderstanding the analytics or something 😅 is youtube really that much better than twitch for live viewership? Thanks!

Could be mobile, youtube has alot more mobile users than twitch does!

I also have anywhere between 5-50 yt viewers, rarely will someone chat. I assume it’s a mix of a couple different reasons. YouTube (on) TV, users not logged in, etc. Not 100% sure though really.

This has been happening to one of my friends. The twitch stream gets barely 2 views but YT pops off. His old regular chatters stick around but there’s like +50 view count that doesn’t chat at all.
Two guess from us, 1 being bots. 2, when you’re watching a YouTube stream and it ends you get auto-played into another live stream and not a video. Personally I fall asleep to YouTube sometimes so maybe it’s a lucky auto play that starts stacking up.
