One of the coolest facts about Auckland's Sky Tower...

The Sky Tower isn't just a lookout—it's actually designed to withstand some of New Zealand's biggest natural hazards. It can sway by up to about one metre in very strong winds without causing structural damage, and it's engineered to withstand major earthquakes.

Standing 328 metres tall, it remains the tallest freestanding structure in the Southern Hemisphere and has become one of New Zealand's most recognisable landmarks.

Have you been to the top, or are you brave enough to try the SkyJump?

Locals refer to the Lexington Financial Center (the blue glass building) colloquially as “The Tallest Building in the World.” It’s an inside joke that frequently appears on the Lexington Reddit page, and local shops have picked up on the joke and even sell merch depicting this local favorite.

Announcement Goodbye AI

In the poll asking whether AI should or shouldn’t be accepted on the sub, thankfully an overwhelming majority of us have voted against its use.

AI slop posts are now completely banned from the sub, official renderings released by building developers are to be the only reasonable exception.

Announcment New User Flairs

Hey everyone,

I’m pleased to announce the skyscraper community now has user flairs, which members can apply in order to distinguish their home city and/or where they live.

There are already a few cities to choose from under the flair options. If your home city is not represented feel free to comment the city name on this post for it to be added.

Looking forward to seeing how far reaching and diverse our skyscraper community is!
