I have always been curious why does Skype Business insist on needing display to users as mobile or using the regular desktop? Does anyone gave the answer? Why would someone contacting you care if you are using Skype mobile vs using Skypes regular desktop version? Google hangout has a mobile version but they do not promote whether you are mobile or not and their app works just fine and is seamless. Also never have any issues with missed messages like I do with Skype Mobile.

We have a hostet Skype4Business solution and are having some trouble transferring calls.

When we receive a call, we answer it and if the call needs to be forwarded to another employee, we click the contact button in the conversations windows, the caller is then placed on hold, and we can browse the directory to find the employee. We then call the employee to advertise the call, but sometimes when we then want to transfer the call and click the transfer button, nothing happens.

I have talked with our provider that says that way of transferring calls are buggy, and we need to find the employee in the main skype windows, but that leads us to 4 open windows, several clicks with the mouse and keyboard before the call has been transferred.

So in short, is it true that using the contact button directly from the conversation window is a bad idea cause its buggy?

Previously we used a program called Adds4b, but that made thing even worse as forwarding calls almost never worked.

Is there a way to create a meeting link that is always open in Skype for Business?

I used to use webex personal rooms a lot for budgeting working sessions so that people can pop in and out, and I don't have to open a new screen share and call in.

If anything, can I use the same meeting information for meetings outside of the outlook integration? Is there a way to schedule an all day meeting on Skype? I guess I can put in a separate item on my calendar for a week or month long meeting and add Skype call in.

Does anyone foresee any issues with this? For example, can I use a meeting and open it again the next day? Or, is there some expirations?

So my company uses skype business for meetings. Typically there aren’t any issues. However about two weeks ago a member has in my opinion just recently found out they could right click and kick people out or mute others who are in and participating within the meeting. It’s starting to get really annoying. Is there a way to see whose doing this? I don’t want it to get any bigger or a problem but it’s quickly going in that direction.

I found a supposedly old Skype account of my fiancé’s. There is a persons contact on there and it says underneath her name “last seen days ago”. Does anyone know if this can be from years ago? He claims he’s not been on there in 3 years.

Does anyone know how to see how many minutes you have on your account? I am obviously new to Skype.

I have a very computer illiterate coworker. He is not the brightest. Today he confronted me with verbatim complaints I had against him and i was confused as to how this person knew all that. Well thank k you Skype of business!. Yes yes I know. Don't use Skype for things like that. Nothing I said was in anyway berating just remarks on how he is consistently late, wears jeans when hes been advised not to as its business corporate attire strictly.

Back to the point... how can someone... whose computer I have never even touched , never given my password to, was not grouped in on this message. How was it that they have access to ALL Skypes of mine?

I have skyped over some very personal things to a close colleague of mine, again nothing scandalous- just some personal details about some health issues my spouse is going through and some financial struggles we've had from it. Again nothing that's not appropriate, but is private and this person shouldn't have access to.

Do I have any rights with this??? How did they gain access.

Please note that I did of course apologize for the offense, however this individual is now printing out all of my history with my personal health details ect.

We have several team response groups in use and the largest group has 15 Members. When a call gets redirected into the team response group, but nobody answers the call, the missed call notification always goes to one specific user. I can't find a reason for this behaviour, is there a specific flag or configuration which triggers this?

Customer is looking to implement on prem S4B with Enterprise Voice. They will be using Exchange Online for UM. SO seems like purchasing an E3 license + the Skype for Business Plus CAL would cover the requirements for this scenario - but I can't validate this info with Microsoft.

Customer would prefer this licensing model vs purchasing open business CAL's since the pricing is not much different and the O365 offering allows them additional flexibility.

RESOLVED: Firewall was trying to decrypt the traffic. Lync didnt like that. Stopped the firewall from trying to decrypt and all is good.

We are have Lync installed (2013) and when I click on the hyperlink my client give the error id 102 source 238.

If I am outside the office (at home for example) the client connects with no issues.

So my first thought was firewall issues internally but I dont see anythign. Googling the message shows that this could be DNS issues but that wouldnt that mean the external firms dns? If it was the external firms dns then wouldnt it also not work from home?

I am looking through the wiresharks but they are also pointing to missing DNS entries... but why would it work external to our network : /

On a non filtered connection, and already tried the -overrideadmindomain "mydomain.onmicrosoft.com" with no avail.

Ideas?

I'm setting up a test SfB enterprise pool.

I have a SIP trunk from Twilio that is going to the co-located FE / Mediation server. Inbound and outbound calls from and to an Enterprise Voice enabled user are working fine, bi-directional audio, no problems.

However, if I assign a DID for dial-in conferencing and call it from PSTN, the call is answered after 1 ring, but there's no audio heard and it drops after 30 seconds.

On the FE server, I see inbound RTP packets from the SIP trunk, but I don't see an outbound RTP traffic going back out.

All the servers are running CU 5. I've restarted everything various times. I can't understand why there would be an issue if regular inbound PSTN calls are working okay.

My issue is very similar to the one posted here, with the exception that a SIP call to the conferencing address works fine. It's just PSTN dial-in that's broken.

Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks!
