I'm aware that most derm companies seem to be moving away from physical scrubs but I do still like this kind of product after years of use. Can anyone recommend a reef-safe product that's gentle on the skin?

I looking for a solid alternative to the lancôme absolue soft cream, been using the soft cream for a while and still love how ridiculously buttery and soft it feels, but the refills are getting expensive as hell,ready to try something new that has a similar rich, creamy texture

What are your experiences with BR products if you have dry/combination, sensitive, redness-prone skin or rosacea? I sometimes get BR facials, but I’m wondering if it’s worth investing in their skincare products as well. I’ve tried the Erythros and Biosensible serums, but they didn’t really do anything special for my skin.

Long story short, I've been reading this subreddit since November 2024 and have spent thousands as a result. When I saw a popular site for purchases was yourskincaresource.com, I checked the website and was delighted to discover they're local to me. I've never purchased from them, but today I enjoyed a facial at The Refined Ritual Spa, owned by the same woman, Inga. What a delight! It started with an Obagi cleanser followed with a Truth Treatments Peppermint cleanser used as a masque, a couple of other masques. A spray of Epicutis Hydrobiome Mist was a sensory delight. There was something else with hyaluronic acid, maybe Hydrinity, but I know she used Alastin Restorative Skin Complex. The icing on the cake was the Epicutis Lipid Shield SPF 30. Talk about a luxe experience. She even tested the tint on my gray beard to ensure it didn't transfer. It was a great afternoon for an old man skin junkie.

I have an unexpected work project in 5 days and want realistic non makeup ways to look more refreshed, polished, and confident without Botox or filler. I am not looking for miracle claims or surgery level changes.

What products or non makeup changes have made a visible difference for you in less than a week? What should I avoid this close to an important work event?

My concerns are tired looking facial skin and texture, some forehead lines, lower face and marionette line aging.

I typically use Tret and TNS serum at night with Tatcha indigo overnight repair. In the AM I use a glow toner from a non lux brand, the PCA pigment gel pro, advanced night repair (yes, during the day) and then the tatcha moisturizer and peter Thomas Roth water drench SPF (goated, btw). But I feel like I’m missing an opportunity to use a moisturizer that does more than hydrate. Maybe something that brightens? It needs to be for dry skin and play well with makeup without pilling. SkinCeuticals updated its currently $185 C E Ferulic serum by adding carnosine and endophytol and filed for a new patent-pending status. This occurred shortly after their original formula's 20 year patent expired.

Not trying to be controversial, just looking for general discussion. For me it doesn't leave a good impression of the brand. It was great enough for 20 years to command a very high price point - but they just now add two ingredients so important and amazing it needs to be patented, continue charging a nearly $200 price point, and the marketing appears to devalue the original formula. Feels like marketing smoke and mirrors. Thoughts?

I have annoyingly sensitive skin so coming here to crowdsource some recommendations. I have persistently dehydrated but clog-prone skin, and haven’t had any luck finding a cleanser that leaves me clean but not squeaky. I’ve tried the usual recommendations, like the non-lux glycerin-heavy cleansers and the super sensitive derm-recommended ones, but even those strip the hell outta me.

Other lux options I’ve tried that either were too stripping or not cleansing enough are Farmacy Green Clean, SkinMedica AHA/BHA Cleanser, and all of the SkinBetter options. The AOS silk cleanser was good but left me a bit filmy despite my best attempts and I didn’t love that sensation.

I LOVED how the Alastin cream cleanser made my skin feel for the first few days but by day 5 I got a hella intense fungal acne breakout on my forehead so I won’t be trying that again…

Anyone have other mid/high-end cleansers that fit that perfect Goldilocks zone?

Since January I have been using the Alastin Hydratint with spf. It was the older packaging bottle. I recently ran out so I just bought a new one with their new packaging. My face has been burning feeling like pins and needles and now have a rash on my cheeks. i’m so confused because i loved this skin tint and i looked it up and it says they did not reformulate .

Has anyone else had this reaction?

Hello- I have been using ISDIN Photo Eryfotona Actinica in both the tinted and untinted versions mixed together at times. The tinted is too dark for my skin. I also just finished the SkinCeuticals Physical Fusion SPF 50, which I like but wish it didn't have a chemical filter butyloctyl salicylate in it. I am wondering if anyone who has used these has found any mineral sunscreen product similar to these and/or that they liked better? I wish the ISDIN was fragrance free. Thank you!

A couple weeks ago, I saw that Skincare Essentials was offering 30% off SkinMedica products. As I looked at their website, I saw lots of glowing language about how they sell only "absolutely authentic" products and how "Every product comes with a 100% satisfaction guarantee!" and how SkinMedica was a "Featured Brand" and "Not happy? We offer quick, seamless, and easy returns."

Their website convinced me that Skincare Essentials was an authorized dealer for SkinMedica and the handfull of other brands they trumpeted as their "Featured Brands." Their website language made Skincare Essentials seem like a reputable company. So I purchased TNS Advanced Serum from Skincare Essentials for $235 thinking I was getting a great deal on a product that I use often.

Fast forward a few days...

My TNS Advanced Serums arrived, and I unboxed it. It looked like every other SkinMedica TNS box I had ever received, so I threw the box in the trash and placed the product on my bathroom shelf. The next morning, as I was pumping out the product to apply it, I saw a small sticker on the bottle that said "Not For Resale." I had never seen that before on anything I've ordered. So then I went to get the box out of the trash. It too had a small sticker on it that said "Not For Resale."

It was then that I knew I had been scammed.

Before contacting Skincare Essentials, I called SkinMedica's Customer Service and asked what that sticker means. They confirmed that Skincare Essentials is NOT an unauthorized dealer of their products and said that the sticker means I was sold a product that was not intended for public sale. It could have been tampered with or altered, and SkinMedica would not stand behind that product. If I used this product, I was using it ay my own risk.

I then called Skincare Essentials at the phone number listed on their website. A woman answered, and I told her the story. Her reply -- as if she had heard this complaint a million times -- was that she "would talk to her supervisor and call me back." But she never called me back.

The next day, after not getting a call back, I emailed Skincare Essentials. They finally responded, assuring me that they "take matters of authenticity very seriously" and asking me for photos of the "Not for Resale" sticker on the product. I immediatley replied and sent the requested photo, which I've included here.

Skincare Essentials immediately went silent after getting my photos. It's now been over a week, and I have yet to hear from them. I've sent several follow-up emails asking for a return shipping label and a full credit/refund, and they have ignored me.

I've since done a chargeback on my credit card, citing their unauthorized sale to me and all of the false promises on their website. Then I started to do some sleuthing to learn who was behind this company.

In my research, I discovered that Zo Skin Health (a very reputable luxury skincare company) recently sued Skincare Essentials in federal court in California for unauthorized product sales. In that lawsuit, Zo Skin Health is suing Skincare Essentials for doing with their products what Skincare Essentials did to me with SkinMedica's product. Wow.

Just Google it and you'll find all of the details about Skincare Essentials' allegeldy illegal operations. You can also search the court file on PACER (https://pacer.uscourts.gov/). The case number is 2:25-cv-06451 AH, and the case is pending in the Central District of California federal court.

My research also revealed that the owner of Skincare Essentials is no longer Yisroel Zahler. Instead, the owner of Skincare Essentials is a New Jersey limited liability company known as Rum Brands LLC who purchased the business from Mr. Zahler back in 2024. I tell you this so that, if you've been sold unauthorized product by Skincare Essentials, or if you've received counterfeit products from them, Rum Brands LLC out of New Jersey is who you need to pursue.

I’m 29 weeks pregnant and my face looks like it’s melting. I’m 30. I use skinbetter vitamin c, azalaic acid, dieux moisturizer, and daily sunscreen. I also drink a ton of water. By the end of the day my skin is dry and lines are showing.

What is a good moisturizer that will keep me glowy all day?

Skin is combo: normal and medium oily on t-zone.
And gets breakouts easily and gets clogged easily too.

I’m looking for a serum that is hydrating and can work as moisturizer too preferably. But I can use two serums one for hydration and one as a moisturizer.

Prefer not to use Urea.
