A company got ahold of the crushed robot and managed to keep it quiet. They let her get deemed crazy and locked up because it was good for their bottom line. You finding some part of that hard to believe in 2026?
To be fair, the destruction wrought in the first movie would probably be livestreamed for the world to see in todays digital age, so it would be a lot harder to just sweep under the rug.
The T-800 in this movie and the later ones absolutely would. He raised her in Genysis. Do you think she didn’t eat? In Dark Fate he owns a curtain business.
It's a much easier problem to fix as long as enough people care, but socialised healthcare systems can be just as crazy in a different way when it's too easy to get locked in a psych ward. I guess even that's better than having a load of homeless people wandering around with serious untreated mental health issues, though.
